Fallout 3 on external display won't start

Lol, if the TV came with a VGA cable, and I had it, I would've told you. There has to be another way to solve this problem. Before I reinstalled my OS, I was able to play Fallout 3 on my external display just fine, and I had never used a VGA cable before.

windows 8 was and is notorious for the faults you now have, many corporates returned purchase product due to this very reason.

But you have an answer, now you need the right stuff to fix it.

Believe me when I tell you, once you set the parts correctly it will be a blast !

You were not to be informed of weird things that can go wrong, how ever, the TV set has a book that came with it.

that there has thee information for it's set up.

check this out, pick up the remote and hit menu, fin "input devices" and see what's in there.

that need to be set in your case at this moment to PC NOT *...... HDMI.....*

reboot all, TV too.

what you want what every one wants is the PC to be incontrol of the screens disp[lay, if you tel the TV set to override..and IT WILL do that, using hdmi, well then the PC has no choice, the tv 'Monitor' is in full control of the systems display and not the PC's graphics card

this needs to be in reverse, The PC needs to tell the TV what to use.

My TV is quite old.. Probably 5 or 6 years old, and it's still running. Lol, because it's so old, I no longer have the booklet that came with it. When I go to the inputs, the list is as follows:

DTV/TV

Av

Comp1

Comp2

HDMI1

HDMI2

HDMI3 (What my PC is connected to, and what it's set at currently)

HDMI-Side

RGB

Photos

Music

EDIT: I do understand what you're saying. I just don't see why there's no setting anywhere that would allow my computer to control the display output.

I tried RGB. Was something supposed to happen? I don't have the VGA cable yet, so I don't see what could have happened.

Brand: Vizio

SN: LZPFEAK1802384

Model Number: VA320M

I went ahead and went to Vizio's website and found their support page for my TV. Here is the link to their website: http://support.vizio.com/product/va320m

EDIT: Also, I think comp1 stands for "Component 1"
