[Daemarian]

Has anyone ever stopped and examined the characters on the maps that came with the game or on the manual or even as it seems on the rails on the Dwemer bridges? There are names written in a strange text, I'm not sure what it is actualy called perhaps some one could enlighten me, usually Daedric ruins. I've desided that I would figure out what those characters mean and using the map and names of the shrines that I know I created a partial key to the Dunmar written language.

 

Here a few that I've figured out:

 

If you look at the top of you map you'll see "Vvardenfell" and just below that there are what seem to be weird shaped lines...those are the easiest characters to translate. They say: Morrowind Province.

 

On the manual to the game you have a triagle...or there should be at least mine does and it has those weird lines againt which are actually, from the top left working clock-wise around are: A, S and V for the three Tribunal; Alamexia (spelling?), Sotha Sil and Vivec.

 

Also on the manual you have six more "words" on the border that stand for the six houses: (from top going clock-wise) DRES, INDORIL, TELVAN, DAGOTH, HLAALU and REDORAN. And no, that is how they put Telvanni on the book.

 

I just thought that I would share a bit of what I've learned in the game.

Sweet. Think that Almalexia, Sotha Sil, Vivec thing was already worked out elsewhere... since this is just a sharing of knowledge thread I'll move it to lore. :P
