Aeden chuckles at Corithalion's reply. "Oh you have a silver tongue all right. A Bard, right? My parents would have loved you at their inn. Say, if you are ever in the northern part of the Bitter Coast, stop in at The Wayfarer's Rest, and say that you're a friend of mine. They don't have anything fancy, but it's comfortable. They don't get much in the way of music types up there & they would appreciate it."

(OOC - since I didn't mention it before, Aeden is a Redguard Scout born under the sign of the Tower. She is carrying a katana, composite short bow, and is wearing medium armor. All of the equipment looks well used but well kept.)

Corithalion replies to Aeden. "Nay, milady. Not a bard, but in my wanderings I didst find it much easier to sing as I walked, and the miles that passed under my feet seemed to fly much faster. I am a wandering mage, wandering the landscape righting wrongs and singing songs, as it were. Thine parents surely sound like good people, and I shall visit them once this unpleasantness is done with. They must be goodly people, to bring you up with manners as they did."

Aeden laughs outloud and then quickly stifles it into her hands. More quietly she responds to Corithalion.

"Oh, sir, you are very funny. My parents tried to teach me manners, and how to behave properly, and all the things a good and proper child should know. Alas, I was a trial to them. I would run off and leave my chores undone. I would have rather been out climbing trees and exploring caves; and I was constantly falling in the creek. They tried to tame me but to naught. I left home when I was fifteen to explore the world. There is so much the lands have to offer, and I wanted to go out and enjoy it. I trained with the guard for a while, but that became too restrictive and so now I am out on the road helping others with various jobs that need to be done. And so I find myself here."

To All Characters:

"Ah, Shadow... always the impatient one..." your employer finally looks up from his books and walks over. Now addressing the whole party, he continues. "I suppose you're all wondering what's going on here. Well, I don't know that much more than you, but after yesterday, one thing's definitely true.. whatever it is, the Empire's in it on the wrong side. Those guards you fought were far from rouge criminals, from all I've seen they had orders from the highest levels." He pauses a moment to let the full meaning of that statement run through your thoughts. "I actually have two jobs for you, depending on your prefered methods. First, I need some evidence from the Imperial Legion fort at Ebonheart. They keep their orders and a log of all actions, or at least they should. I want it. This won't be a job for brute force, I want you in and out with a minimum of trouble. As if you need more motivation, you'll probably be dead if you slip up and get caught. As for the rest of you, one of my highest ranking officers disappeared here recently. She hasn't reported in for several weeks, and I fear the worst. Go to Ald Velothi and do whatever it takes to find her and bring her home, or at least the true facts of her death. Oh, and since I imagine you'll be wanting to buy equipment before you leave, I have the payment for your work yesterday. Those of you who I haven't paid will find all your gold on the table over there."

Corithalion stands. "My father and just about everyone related to me is in the imperial force, so I might be a little too recognizable in Ebonheart, even though I do take after my mother. Even so, I think it would be prudent for me to stay away from that job, and look for your officer. There are questions I need answered for this, but I will wait until the team is set so you don't have to answer them more than once." He looks to the group. "Anyone for the job looking for the officer - come to me, those who want to steal the book, over there." He says, pointing to the other side of the room.
