To Shadow:

As you walk away, you hear the guard say something about "arrogant cowards" and the scrape of metal on metal as he slides his sword back into place. Then, a few seconds later, his voice yelling "Hey, come over here... you'll never believe this idiot I just chased off."

Emry thanks the driver gets off the silt strider at Ald Velothi. Nodding towards the inn, she tells Corithalion, "I'm going to go get a room and drop off my armor. We can ask questions around town when we go pick up the potions for the others."

"Sounds good to me." Corithalion replies. "I believe the tradehouse is the place to go. I don't recall if they have any rooms, but we should be able to get the potions and possibly the information we need." He turns to the driver. "Thank you, good sir, for a most comfortable and pleasant trip."

Reylas, a bit taken aback by the all pervading normallity of the place, goes to the local inn, the Six Fishes. Sitting down at a table, he orders a veritable banquet of food. Several tankards of liquor, each a different variety, and several steaming dishes. Reylas, satisfied with the new provisions, surveys the room, seeking an imperial guard. Off duty would be best, but if necessary Reylas could make due with a guard on duty as well.

To Reylas:

The chef, if a bit suprised at your large order, quickly finds the food and drink you requested. About a hundred gold later, your table is well supplied with excelent looking food. The guards are just as easy to find. One table is occupied by a party of Imperial guards. From the noise coming from their table, they appear to be having some kind of celebration, complete with plenty of alcohol.

Waving Jouko off, as if dismissing him, Reylas walks over to the party of guards, with the best face of cheer and merriment he can manage.

"Well met, friends. I know the job of enforcing the law can often be a thankless one. It seems that certain companions I was supposed to meet here didn't arrive, and now I have all this extra food and liquor that I can not hope to eat myself. Let's not let it go to waste, shall we? Help yourselves!"
