spankythehippo
So I've been playing with FOOK and FWE at the same time for a while. I've read people advising against this, but I haven't seen any problems. Until now. My game freezes when it tries to level up (namely level 10). To give a full picture, I got a certain someone out of Tranquility Lane and leveled up to level 10 from completing the quest. To be honest, the only thing I want to keep from FOOK are the guns. So is it possible to remove everything from FOOK except the guns using GECK? Or has anyone tried something similar? My logic is that the guns shouldn't be tied into any other aspect of the mod, maybe spawn rates and inventories. But even that shouldn't be a problem. BlackRampage
I'd recommend giving My Utility World V3 by Freddy Farnsworth a try instead. It's got the best of both overhauls.
drithius
People advise against FOOK+FWE because FWE rebalances the entire wasteland, whereas FOOK adds a buttload of new items with vanilla balancing. Not to mention the functions they both cover such as explosive entry, grenade hotkey, companion overhaul, and more. It's possible to strip FOOK down to a husk  by removing everything but item entries, but you then won't have any means of item distribution. And, if you include FOOK leveled lists, you'll need to create a patch to so that FWE items still get strewn about. And it will be a big patch. And I hope you don't mean to do this all on your existing save... because the sudden removal of all those quests, scripts and other fook additions would cause no shortage of problems. Give Freddy's mod a try.

Give Freddy's mod a try. I actually compared FOOK and FWE in FO3Edit. There were too many entries to edit, so I just left it. I gave Freddy's mod a go, but I didn't like it. Part of the reason why I want to keep FOOK is because of WMK. And Freddy's doesn't seem to be compatible. I've found a possible fix to my leveling up problem. I just started a new game and advlevel'ed all the way to max. And for some reason, it doesn't crash. I play really REALLY hardcore, difficulty wise, so those extra perks don't make any difference to the difficulty. There is a chance that the Tranquility Lane quest could be bugged, because I realised I didn't even have the Unoffical Patch installed. I'm stupid. Maybe that's the real fix. For reference, I load FOOK then FWE then WMK-FWE then WMK-FOOK. I also use WMK-Uniques, but it's not working properly for me, even though I load that last. Not too big of a deal, although I would like to get it working. I only want to use it for Ol' Painless, but I can settle for upgraded hunting rifles.
