hormel09
I am having a difficult time creating a stable modded game of Fallout 3. I'll be playing the game and it will just close. It doesn't bring up an error or say "Fallout 3 has stopped working". It just closes. I'm using the following mods:Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch (installed archive invalidation)FO3 Wanderers EditionMMM (The Paradox Ignitions 'The Mergers' version)EVEFO3 Redesigned/Project BeautyBlackened FWE-MMM-EVE-Project Beauty Merge PatchMy personal merged patch created through FO3Edit I'm also using FOSE, 3GB enabler, and GFWL disabler. I've attached a screen shot for my load order (generated via LOOT). http://imgur.com/3TgFdy1 I have an i5-4670k, r9 290, and 8GBs of ram. I'm playing at 1440p with max settings. I do have stable game play if I am not using any mods (except GFWL disabler) or just the Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 patch + FO3 Wanderers Edition. If I start to add the others I mentioned, the closing starts. Anybody know what could be causing such an issue? bben46
What you are experiencing is called a Crash to Desktop usually abbreviated CTD. There are many threads and many possible causes of a CTD. I recommend doing a little research on the Nexus topics top narrow down what your problem could be. One common reason is running out of memory - this happens after playing for a while. Others are immediate - from something missing in your mods.
M48A5
First, do not use LOOT to sort your mods. It will screw-up your load order every time. The Blackened patch is not in the correct location. Compatibility patches must load after the last mod they are patching. The FO3 Wanderers Edition plugins are not in the correct order. They should be in the same sequence as the vanilla game DLCs. You do not need the GFWL disabler since you have FOSE. Unused plugins should be uninstalled, not just disabled. Have you made the .ini edits to limit your cpu to two cores?
