TheCanucker
Hello, well I am a xboxer first off, but I have been playing Morrowind like crazy. I recently visited a friend of mine and he had Oblivion on his pc and I LOVED it. My pc can handle the game but truth be told I hate playing computer games with the keyboard, so I was wondering if anyone knew if I could play Oblivion on the pc with a controller, any info would be GREATLY appreciated. cryocry
A keyboard has more controls! But, I do remember a friend of mine in California playing NFS III with an XBox controller (or something), but I haven't seen that option in the Oblivion.ini file, or the options menu. I'm guessing no.
Abramul
You are primitave, aren't you? A keyboard has more controls! I'm guessing no.*sigh* Game Pad Functionality Although the PC version of Oblivion handles best when played with a keyboard and mouse, it is possible to play the game with an assortment of game pads as well. Due to the variance in these game pads, it may be necessary to make a few changes to the Oblivion.ini file located in My Documents\My Games\Oblivion. Below is a list of the settings that can be changed to make a Xbox 360 controller attached to a PC, function better with Oblivion. It should be noted however, that because the PC version of the game was optimized to play with a keyboard and mouse, the experience will NOT be the same, as using a 360 controller on the Xbox 360 version of the game. Additionally, these settings can be applied to other game pads, but the values represented may need to be tweaked further. Finally, the mapping of the buttons will need to be determined when entering the game, and can be changed in Options - Controls, from the Main Menu - Do NOT map the directional controls (Forward, Backward, Left, Right), as this will overwrite certain changes made in the Oblivion.ini file. nintendocrazed
Oooh, looks like someone just got told by an admin. Anywhoser, if it was me, I'd probably go with the keyboard. That's because, if I'm at the computer, it's more restful to have my hands on a keyboard than holding a controller. Also, you do you expect to type in anything in the console? Not necessarily to cheat, but just to make your life a little easier with things (coc-ing to different locations just to save a little time, for example (no, not movetoqt, other things that aren't cheating) ).
