circasurvive
Okay so I tried unchecking the Steam Cloud sync under steam settings and that didn't work. I also tried running Steam on Offline mode and that too didn't work. I don't understand how to keep it saved. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Fonger
steam changed this aspect of the game make a backup of the original in your game directory and edit the master in your game directory steam will smack it into the saves area when you play :wallbash: (not an intelligent move on steam's part)
circasurvive
Thanks for the reply :) But I'm new to this, how do I backup my game into the game directory and edit the master? I'm starting to really wish I bought the discs -_-
Fonger
why are you trying to back up the game and not simply making a copy of the ini in your game folder
CarlCorey
But I'm new to this, how do I backup my game into the game directory and edit the master? I'm starting to really wish I bought the discs -_-Doesn't matter. I have the store-bought disk and it behaves exactly the same. Go to your .../Steam/SteamAps/common/fallout new vegas directory and make a copy of fallout_default.ini .. call it original_fallout_default.ini or something that's meaningful to you. Then make all your ini file edits to fallout_default.ini and all should work for you. Edited December 11, 2010 by CarlCorey
