Game keeps freezing and I'm at a lose...

So I have sorta new to modding, I have modded in the past and and recently (As of a week or so ago) picked it up again and started modding again. But and since I started back up I have not had a problem installing/uninstalling mods and getting them to work properly, as well as fix most of the issues I have had with said mods.

 

But recently I have encountered a "Bug" (If you can call it that) while playing my game. Most of the time when I play my game freezes, my sound is still going but my image is dead still and my task manager says that Skyrim is "Not Responding".

 

It seems random, being as sometimes it does it after a few minutes of playing, or when i get into combat (Or combat is going on around me) and sometimes it simply freezes right as I start moving my character after loading into the game. I have tried fixing the problem through Process of Elimination and Trial and Error. But I cannot for the life of me find out what is causing my problem, all I had downloaded the night it started happening was as follows:

"Lore-Based Loading Screens: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/21265/?".

 

"Hunting In Skyrim- A Hunting Guild: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18866/?' (Which I originally thought was the problem).

And

"Bijin Warmaidens: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40038/?" (Too thought it was the problem).

 

Everything was working fine before I installed these mods, and I can't figure out why it is still freezing even when "Bijin Warmaidens" and "Hunting In Skyrim" have since been removed.

 

I'm trying to see if it is a bug with one of the mods or if it is that I'm just stupid.

If anyone can help me fix this problem I will love you for a long time!

My computer specs are:

CPU: Intel® Core i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz

GPU: NVIDIA GTX 760 2 GB

RAM: 12 GB's

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro

These are all things that can help but before youj do any of this make sure you eliminate what could cause the problem first removing mods and adding mods so on and so forth also a lot of those i listed are for people (like me) who run ENBs 4k textures and all that remember those textures and ENBs are not dependent on the RAM you have installed but the vram on your card and that 760 with it's 2GB of VRAM will take a beating pretty quick and that can cause freezing and CTDs all on its own.

Anyway that's the best advice i can think of right now.

 

Edit* Also don't rule out AOS 2 audio overhauls can actually cause crashes...i have no idea why but i have had more trouble with audio overlhauls more than anything except for the texture mods i like to f*#@ up by not installing them properly :D

All excellent advice. I've mentioned in other posts possibly optimizing your Papyrus scripting system with Cheskos fix may do the trick. I've had it fix a lot of these issues

 

This problem can occur if your scripting system is being overstressed in the presence of several script-intensive (or inefficient) mods, or because your Papyrus section of your Skyrim.ini file has been modified with a set of non-default values that can cause issues. It can also be due to the speed of your CPU. You can try making the following adjustment to your Skyrim.ini file. If a line below is not present in your INI file, you can safely add it.

First, try using the default settings, if they have been somehow changed.

[Papyrus]

fUpdateBudgetMS=1.2

fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=1.2

fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0

iMinMemoryPageSize=128

iMaxMemoryPageSize=512

In order to increase the amount of CPU time and memory given to the script system, you can try the following. This may increase performance.

If that does not seem to fix the problem, you can try this as well. This is mostly a default configuration, with extra time given to the Update Budget values.

Mod organizer if you really want to get into modding and really get some big mod lists and have it work properly without screwng up your whole skyrim directory this is the best tool you will get. Learn it love it watch tutorials
