  1. Body mods aren't necessary but the majority of texture mods, including armor overhauls, are made for specific body mods. The Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) is part of SkyUI and requires SKSE. You'll only need SKSE and SkyUI installed to access it from your menu screen.
  2. There are Body Mods, such as UNP and CBBE and then there are texture mods which place a texture over the top of them. For realism I personally recommend Mature Skin Textures, you can choose from various realistic options in the files section and overwrite as desired. It's important to note that they are NSFW http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32986/? You will need three separate files and load them in this order The body type (UNP or CBBE) Texture MAPS and the TEXTURES. If you need this to be Safe for Work (SFW) which I do because I have kids you can also install the Bikini mod here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/7736/? Your Skeleton (Such as XP32 Maximum Skeleton)Hope this helps.
  3. New Information Added! Organized earlier sections for better readibilityFleshed out content for the following sections: Installing And Configuring ENBoost Memory Patcher (enblocal.ini) without ENBsInstalling And Configuring ENBoost Memory Patcher (enblocal.ini) with ENBsGuide Link: http://www.craigandc...d-memory-issues Always eager to hear feedback.
  4. He is correct. It's skse_loader.exe and it is located in your Skyrim directory after installing SKSE
  5. I understand. Sorry I can't be more help. If you don't get any feedback on this I've had luck disabling mods in blocks of 10 until the issue goes away and then narrowing it down to the individual mod after that.
  6. All if those questions are answered and many more extensively in Gophers and Gamerpoets videos on Skyrim. If you don't have the software yet I would watch the videos so you can see modding in action.
  7. As a side note. Your XP32 skeleton must load after ANY mod that modifies skeleton files and as you said you run the patches after that installation. Not loading XP32 last prior to generating your patches is asking for trouble.
  8. Gamerpoets has a similar load order but they run Bashed Patch prior to FNIS and DSR after FNIS. I've had alot of success with their load order based on STEP. It's in my stability guide http://www.craigandchris.com/how-to-fix-skyrim-ctds-hangs-and-memory-issues/ Make Sure Youre Happy With Your Mod Setup (This Will Need To Be Rerun Any Time You Enable And Disable Mods) Disable Any Previous Bashed Patches Disable Fores New Idles In Skyrim (FNIS) Disable Any FNIS Patches Disable Dual Sheath Redux Disable Any DSR Patches Disable Any Other SkyProc Patchers Disable Any Other Mods That Require Their Own Custom Patch Disable Any Mods Dependent On The Previously Disabled Mods Resort Mods Using LOOT If You Havent Already, Create Your Merged Patch (Using Creating A Merged Patch Using TES5Edit Section) Create Your Bashed Patch (Using The Video Above) Enable And Regenerate Patch For Fores New Idles In Skyrim (FNIS) Enable All Other Disabled Mods Above And Generate Their Respective Patches Of course there is more than one way to do this. Mod organizer, even though it has a learning curve saves hours of troubleshooting headaches. :)
  9. Probably should post this at their forums then. You're more likely to get qualified advice http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/406-nexus-mod-manager-open-beta/
  10. I agree with cdcooley. I have to install SKSE by any method other than the automatic installer.. and I use Mod Organizer. Mod Organizer detects your SKSE installation automagically anyway. Now, I've gone in and added tweaks to my SKSE installation after the fact (such as the INI tweak for memory management and SSME) but other than that the auto installer has been fine for me since I've started modding. SSME video can be found here if you want the memory blocks tweak http://www.craigandchris.com/how-to-fix-skyrim-ctds-hangs-and-memory-issues/
  11. Mod Organizer is the preferred method for modders who are using a good number of mods (where alot of file and texture overlaps occur) For most modders NMM is more than adequate for their needs and a great place to get them started. I recommended the SSME video from Gopher because he shows you in that video how to create the INI file needed for SKSE
  12. I agree with Oubliette. If you want to get started with modding then the last place you want to look too is the mods themselves. You should familiarize yourself with the TOOLS and Guides put together by your betters. Personally I recommend Gopher and GamerPoets. After watching about eight hours of their content combined I can promise you the level of comfort you feel will improve thousands of percent. I have a few of their essential videos im my guide but you'll want to visit their YouTube channels directly. http://www.craigandchris.com/how-to-fix-skyrim-ctds-hangs-and-memory-issues/
  13. If you're not qualified (as you said) to determine which perma mod is causing the problem why not just disable them one at a time until the issue goes away?
  14. Please tell me what "completely bare" means.
  15. See my latest post on this thread http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2764024-ctd-when-i-move-my-cursor-when-i-enter-outside/ It might help you understand your ENB a bit better
  16. See my stability guide. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2766209-how-to-fix-skyrim-ctds-hangs-and-memory-issues-wip/ Some important things should be done to your build. Make Sure You’re Happy With Your Mod Setup (This Will Need To Be Rerun Any Time You Enable And Disable Mods) Disable Fores New Idles In Skyrim (FNIS) Disable Any FNIS Patches Disable Dual Sheath Redux Disable Any DSR Patches Disable Any Other SkyProc Patchers such as Perma Disable Any Other Mods That Require Their Own Custom Patch Disable Any Mods Dependent On The Previously Disabled Mods Resort Mods Using LOOT Create Your Merged Patch (See Video In My Guide) Create Your Bashed Patch (See Video In My Guide) Enable Regenerate Patch For Fores New Idles In Skyrim (FNIS) (See Video In My Guide) Enable All Other Disabled Mods Above And Generate Their Respective Patches (Including Perma)GamerPoets also have a great video on installing Perkus Maximus properly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tbs_lAB4xkM Hope it helps
  17. That's because there's literally NO cohesive or competent documentation on ENBs. I will be putting a guide together once I'm done with my stability guide. Essentially ENBs consist of three major components. 1. An ENB Installation / Version 2. An ENB Configuration (enblocal.ini) Also Known As, and nobody understands this, ENBOOST 3. An ENB preset file (enbseries.ini) First Depending on the ENB you are trying to install... you absolutely-must-postively-certainly make sure that you've got the appropriate ENB version installed that the ENB was designed for... (such as v0.266.. 0.262... etc) "Installing" simply means copying and pasting the d3d9.dll file from the WrapperVersion folder. But you could just copy and paste ALL of the contents of the WrapperVersion folder into your Skyrim directory and launch SKSE. After copying those files over launching Skyrim should load the ENB without any problems (you just haven't installed any presets yet). You'll know your ENB loaded because you'll see the information in the top left corner (and if you press shift+enter an ENB configurator will launch) You can download different versions of ENB here: http://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrim.htm Second And Third You need to go to your ENB you want to install and copy and paste the contents of that ENB into your Skyrim root directory. That ENB will typically contain everything EXCEPT the d3d9.dll file. This means you can copy and paste the ENB files over the top of your WrapperVersion files above. Your ENB will have a customized enblocal.ini file and enbseries.ini file. At this point you will need to open enblocal.ini in a text editor and change the memory section to look something like this [MEMORY]ExpandSystemMemoryX64=trueReduceSystemMemoryUsage=trueDisableDriverMemoryManager=falseDisablePreloadToVRAM=falseEnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=falseReservedMemorySizeMb=384 ; set this value to 128 if you don't have loads of texture modsVideoMemorySizeMb=3072 ; set this value to your total system memory - 2048, I recommend a MAX of 4096EnableCompression=falseAutodetectVideoMemorySize=false The above code actually configures the memory management details for ENBOOST, which is a memory tweak implemented by ENB to prevent CTDs and optimize Skyrim memory management (it works beautifully by the way). This means you no longer need the ENBoost mod if you currently have it installed. In fact, ENBoost would overwrite your enblocal.ini file and simply disable your ENB... or crash your game entirely depending on the situation. Lastly the enbseries.ini file can be left alone, this is where the magic happens. This file contains all the customization done by the person developing the ENB. If they were tech savvy they may also have implemented some cool SweetFX features and such as well, but if you copied over their files accurately this should be handled appropriately. If the ENB developer released some "presets" (such as the addition of Blur Sharp or Film Grain), that preset will contain... you guessed it... an ENBSERIES.INI FILE! So you will copy and paste that enbseries.ini file over the top of the one that came with the ENB. Oh, and Last, don't forget to disable antialiasing and antiostropic filtering by running SkyrimLauncher.exe and clicking options. Your ENB will take over those tasks. Hope this helps, my guide will be more thorough and less sarcastic when I put it together.
  18. I'd suggest you watch Gophers video on SSME for creating the SKSE ini file as well. See the SSME section here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2766209-how-to-fix-skyrim-ctds-hangs-and-memory-issues-wip/
  19. Need more information. What mod manager are you using? Are you using LOOT? What mod broke it? Are you using SKSE?
  20. Found mine out. It may fix your problem. Make sure XP32 Maximum Skeleton is loaded after any other mods that make skeleton modifications. For NMM users this means installing it last. For me I had installed Cheskos Belt Quivers and it over wrote my maximum skeleton. Once you've reinstalled XP32 MS then rerun DSR patcher.
  21. I'm glad you figured it out! Thanks for getting back to us. You still will want to clean those dirty edits and run some patchers (given the large amount of mods you have) - My guide above covers how to do that... I've got around 200 mods and I got CTDs in specific areas with mod overlays (such as Dawnguard) until I ran patchers, so they do, indeed, eliminate possible CTDs.
  22. A good way to isolate a possible ENB issue is to simply disable the ENB. If you go to your skyrim directory you can rename d3d9.dll to d3d9.old and relaunch. You may also want to disable any ENB specific mods in your system too. If your game doesn't crash after that then it is definitely an ENB issue. Let me know
  23. Glad you got it resolved, thanks for letting us know. You still might want to get into merged and bashed patches given how many Mods you have - it could save you a number of headaches in the future.
