norcobikezz
Hi, I have my game in french, and i wanted to reinstall it in english because it is easier with many mods. And i need the English Silent Voice fix which must be used on an english version of oblivion. I was wondering: If i uninstall oblivion and then reinstall it in english, will i still have all my mods in the data folder?? I guess the mods in OBMM will still be there, i just need to deactive them? Thanks for answering
WastelandAssassin
not sure about OMODs, as i really have no idea if these will be removed, but i think that any mod that you have manually installed (meaning anything that goes into the games' folders) will probably be deleted when you uninstallif all your mods are OMODs, the easiest way would be to just copy all of them to a different folder, then uninstall the game, re-install the game, get all the patches and such, get OBSE and OBMM, and then just copy the OMODs back to their folderthis should solve any problems that you might have (can't guarantee this, but it should work just fine)

WastelandAssassin
it shouldn't be complicated at all listen, if all the changes that you have done, to make your mods work together are just plugin changes (meaning that you have only added esp or esm files) than all you really have to do, is make a backup of these files, as they will probably be deleted when you uninstall the game (it should probably empty your game folder of anything, even things that weren't in the original game, like mods) just make a back up of anything that you want to keep, un-install the game, re-install the game, get all the needed things (you still have to get the patches, OBMM and OBSE) and then put all the things that you have made a back up of, back into your games' folder it may sound difficult, but it should be just like installing the game from scratch again, and then moving some filesbelieve me, you have done a much harder job getting all the mods that you've had, and get them working
norcobikezz
ok you convinced me, ill make a backup of my whole oblivion files on my external harddrive just for sure and cross my fingers, haha. the only things that i care about are the manually installed mods, cuz i have to go thru all the meshes and textures folder to find which one belongs to each mod Edited December 12, 2010 by norcobikezz
SavageArtistry
Copy your entire "Data" folder somewhere else (or perhaps an easier idea, just rename it something the game can't recognize when uninstalling, such as "DataX"). As for omods, OBMM will think they are still installed when they actually aren't. It's no big deal really. You'll have the mods in OBMM's folder showing up in the list as already activated. Simply deactivate them and reactivate to reinstall them.

Any idea what is happenning? Only thing I can say for that is did you put them back into the appropriate folder under My Documents/My Games/Oblivion/Saves? It could have something to do with Windows' UAC since the default path to saves is on the C drive. You may have to disable that or tweak your computer to store your My Documents folder in another location.

Could this be the problem? If so i don't mind restarting over. I just don't want to have problem later with my saves. EDIT: I finally got it to work i think, i just had no Save folder in the mygames/oblivion/Thanks to both of you Edited December 13, 2010 by norcobikezz
