christryker
I think I killed the thieves guild stranger in the abandoned house in Anvil. I tried to do the spawn npc code. But I do not know how. So what is the code for spawning NPCs
Povuholo
I think I killed the thieves guild stranger in the abandoned house in Anvil. I tried to do the spawn npc code. But I do not know how. So what is the code for spawning NPCs You killed him? Did you download some kind of mod that made everyone non-essential or something? Because he shouldn't be killable... The code is placeatpc (or placeatme). So placeatpc <ID> X,Y,Z (add numbers, just 1,1,1 is fine). The ID isn't the same as the name, so you'll have to look it up on a site or in the construction set. Or, if the stranger's body is still there, you can select him using the console and type resurrect.
Malchik
He is not always in that house. He spends quite a bit of time in Anvil Castle. Maybe you haven't killed him and he's there now!
christryker
I just remembered, If I do not find him I could just use the console to spawn the forged note...
cryocry
The moderators will probably want to move this after this post, but: SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER The stranger is the Gray Fox. UNSPOILER
Sypron
Thanks for saying thats a spoiler, but there was still no point in saying it. It has no relevance to the topic.
cryocry
Thanks for saying thats a spoiler, but there was still no point in saying it. It has no relevance to the topic. Yes it does. If he killed him, he can't complete the Thieves Guild questline. Or, if you're referring to the spoiler mention, I marked it as one because someone might want to find out who the Gray Fox is on their own. Switch
I think it does have relevance, just about. Though your repeated posting of spoilers in non-spoiler threads is getting a little tiresome, I must admit. If it's not in the Spoilers forum, please try not to post spoilers, even if you mark them with gigantic red letters. Thank you. Sypron, that's what the report feature is for - don't make vigilante posts please. Moving this to Spoilers...
Povuholo
I'm sure the stranger and the gray fox are two different npc's (technically). Too much trouble with switching armor, name and dialogue otherwise. Since you are not supposed to be able to kill the stranger, the game won't recognise that the gray fox isn't supposed to appear any more. So if you've passed the stranger part and reached the stage in which the gray fox gives you quests, the stranger is probably not important anymore. Edit: I just remembered that the stranger appears again at the end of the quest line. It could be a brand new npc with another ID, or maybe not. So there could be trouble. Or the stranger is put back there through a script or something. I don't know.
