Deleted4610270User
I ran into a problem. SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD: The red dragon captured in Dragonsreach is ready to fly me to that place right before Sovngarde, where none of my followers can go. At the same time I finished a couple of quests for Ulfric, but I was unable to proceed after he gave me his axe to deliver to Jarl of Whiterun. I was unable to start a conversation with Jarl about the axe, while he was next to the dragon in Dragonsreach... I tried to use the setstage quest ID stage# from console, but I had to finish the whole damn quest line because finishing each sub-quest, such delivering axe to Jarl, would prevent the next part of the quest from occurring. I tried to complete each subquest through console commands to see if it at any point I can normally continue the war quest, but I had to finish all the sub-quests through console commands without experiencing any of it... I do not want that. I want to actually do the quest. At this point I either have to use console commands to complete the whole Stormclocks vs Imperials war or try to complete the quest AFTER I ride on the red dragon to Sovngarde. Is it actually possible to complete this Stormclocks vs Imperials War quest AFTER defeating Alduin/finishing the main quest???
Lachdonin
Absolutely, yes. You even get treated to some slightly different dialogue.
Kestrellius
Yeah, you can't play most of the Civil War until you complete "Dragon Rising". Which causes some problems if you're not playing as the Dragonborn. But yeah, it's entirely possible to do the CW after Alduin. I did so on my first playthrough. chanchan05
I assume it's your first foray into Elder Scrolls. Basically the game doesn't really care if you finish one quest before the other unless it blocks requirements and similar stuff. You can finish the "main quest" before anything else, and do everything else after. Just do whatever you want. The game doesn't end. If you run out of quests, you can add more lands and more quests via mods.
