bam0815708 Posted April 12, 2015 Share Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) Hey, i am trying to make trenches in fallout nv geck. and when i lower the land enough it all looks fine but in game there is a dirt layer slightly lower than where the ground use to be, and u cant see thru it from the surface but u can pass thru it and see the sky when ur below it. how do i get rid of this annoyance? or adjust it to be lower? plz healp! jcdenton2012 Posted April 13, 2015 Share Posted April 13, 2015 Easy one... that's the landscape LOD texture your passing through. In order to process the landscape at long distances the GECK creates a custom LOD texture and mesh for the landscape. This is why you can see raised hills and open plains at a vast distance, but why stuff like some buildings, roads, and bushes don't process until you get up close. Tree are different, some trees have custom LODs that you can create with several other options when you run the LOD creation process. OK, hard part now... where are you putting the trenches? If its in the Mojave... you might have some trouble because that means you'll need to rerun the LOD creation process again in order to create a new custom LOD for whatever changes you are making... and you might need to consult with other people because I don't think its possible to cherry pick your worldcell: cells for LOD creation...
