Uninstalling a house mod

So I've landed myself in an interesting situation.

All of a sudden, my game started crashing on save. Any kind of save, 100% of the time. After a lot of trial and error, I traced the problem back to the AFK_Weye mod. The problem here is that this mod includes a player home that I'm using, and so it has all my stuff. Unique items, rare items, everything. So you can see my problem. I can't simply get my stuff out and create a new save before I uninstall the mod. But I can't leave it in either because that makes the game unplayable (can't save). Right now my only option is to uninstall the mod anyway and lose every single item I collected over 140+ hours of gameplay, including Deadric quest rewards, unique weapons and armor and everything I got out of the Shivering Isles. I would really, really hate to do that.

Is there any solution other than pretty much destroying my entire collection? I've contacted the mod author, but in the meantime I thought I'd check if anyone can offer some ideas that don't involve losing everything I own in the game.

There is the chance that you have a mod conflict. AFK_Weye is not getting along with one other mod. If it was that way, rather than the CTD causer being in AFK_Weye only, then you could remove the conflicting mod and leave AFK_Weye active.

The first test would be to deactivate every single one of your mods except AFK_Weye and test to see if you can save.

If you can save, then you can activate all the mods again and systematically remove groups of them until you find the mod conflicting with AFK_Weye.

Another option you might look at is loading up an old savegame from before the crashing problem started, and evacuating everything from your house. You would lose some hours of play time, but not all.

Well, I've been talking to the creator of the mod and there was one other person who was having the same problem I'm having right now. (This is how I landed on AFK_Weye as being the problem to begin with.) Looking at that other person's mod list I took out the mods we both had in common.

Strangely, removing the Decorator Assistant (another OBSE-dependant mod) solved the saving problem, only to replace it with a new one: the game consistently freezes a couple of minutes in. No CTD or error messages, it just stops responding and I have to use Ctrl+Alt+Del to get out of the game window. Very strange things are happening here.

(The conclusion is, of course, very obvious. My computer is haunted.)

I'll keep testing to see what else pops up, but I thought I'd mention this. It's bizarre enough to deserve a mention....
