Do Corpses Disappear On Their Own?

I'm just curious if a corpse will disappear on it's own after a period of time. It seems like some of them have been there for a while. I only know of two options to make corpses disappear: using the console to 'disable' them and Reneer's Corpse Mod (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8939). The latter looks very interesting, but in the case of perhaps me not being able to carry any more items, i'm not sure if I want the bodies to disappear too soon before i've taken their goods (the mod says the bodies will disappear in two days unless they rise from the dead). Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions?

yes, bodies that are not marked as quest items will vanish on their own after a couple of days. Loot, however, does not. There is a mod out there that prevents bodies from vanishing, although I don't remember what it was called. Alternatively, you could simply loot everything from the bodies and drop it where you are standing if you can't carry it all (or at least the heavy stuff), that way the loot won't go away when the corpse does. Just be careful about dropping really small items, they can be hard to retrieve later (but usually don't weigh enough to have to drop).
