A flamethrower might be possible if it spewed out a ton of fireballs out at once but it wouldn't give off the "feel" that it is shooting out a flammable liquid that catches everything on fire. It would just be a super-stream of fireballs...assuming the PC wouldn't choke and die trying to handle it.

well what about the akatosh mount by saiden, when you're not riding it and it engages in combat, it spews out streams of fire that would look perfect as a flamethrower. It catches npc's on fire and everything! It would be epic!

*edit*

here check this video out

show's a beautiful stream of fire!

I checked into that mod and it seems to use 1 of 5 particle emitters. I think the one you'd be interested in is "Dragon Breath Fire.nif"

You'd have to figure how to attach the emitter to the end of a weapon though.

It would be cool if it could be attached to a jump animation where it "fires" off Boba Fetts jet pack thrusters whenever you jump in the air and turn off when you land.

thank you very much for the find! Yeah, well I can't do any mods myself unfortunately, so someone else would have to do it.

One question though, I know most people use stuff like 3ds max, maya, blender and that stuff for making meshes. I know how to make 3D objects in a program called AutoCAD though, is it possible to make meshes for mods with AutoCAD?

You can probably export to OBJ and use NifSkope to import it into an existing NIF...however your options for what you can do will be very limited (such as not being able to do anything that requires rigging (clothes / armor / creatures)

Best to use 3ds Max if you have it (especially if you are familiar with AutoCad....I assume the layout would be familiar) but Blender is a VERY popular and there are a lot of tutorials for it. Look in our Blender forum to find the pinned topic that gives you a slew of tutorials to read up on. The 1st thing you should read for Blender is the "Noob to Pro" to get familiar with the interface and how things are done in it.
