djadamson1
I'm trying to run the g.e.c.k with nvse but I keep getting an error when trying to open it, I have followed these steps that I found elsewhere: 1) Download The GECK 1 4 PowerUP*2) Install the GECK PU (geckpu-nv-14.exe and geckpu-nv-14.dll) in your FNV directory, alongside FalloutNV.exe, geck.exe, and nvse_loader.exe*3) Install the GECK PU nvse plugin (nvse_plugin_geckpu-nv-14.dll) in your nvse plugins directory (%FNVDirectory%\Data\nvse\plugins\)4) Right click on 'nvse_loader.exe' and select 'copy'.5) Right click on the location you want the shortcut to go and select 'Paste Shortcut'*6) Rename your shortcut to something that's logical to you7) Right click your new shortcut and select 'properties' Click the 'Shortcut' tab if it's not active.9) Append the '-editor' switch to the shortcut's 'target' field. Now mine looks like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\nvse_loader.exe" -editor However now when I click on the shortcut I get this message: Launching C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\fall out new vegas\Geck.exe failed (740) Any help would be greatly appreciated! Aintiarna
I had this exact problem once. Are all three files (geck, nvse-loader and geck-pu) set to run as administrator? I fixed it by deleting the shortcut, then after making sure those files were all set to run as administrator, I recreated the shortcut. Then I made sure the link was also set to run as administrator. Otherwise everything you've done looks correct. It might also be worth running geck.exe solo first to make sure the config files are created properly. I don't know if that would mess up nvse but it couldn't hurt to rule it out.
