sheep69
My Oblivion Mods Dont work. :wallbash: This has been a problem for a while, and i have been looking for what to do, Yahoo answers, ect... but no luck. The problem is that my Mods do show up when i run the oblivion launcher, and i tick them... But when i go in game and look for the mod Location. theres no mods/items to been seen. Fallout 3 and NV uses the same mod system and works perfectly... just not oblivion. i looked at countless youtube tutorials, none of them bring up my problem. nor does it fix it.So i am asking you guys. The people who are most familliar with oblivion modding/etc.. Help would be greatly appriceated. :D
hollowman125
im probably going to look like an idiot for this but, did you put the esp files in the data folder? cause if you put them in any other folder it won't work. and if you pirated it (not saying you did in any way, shape, or form) then mods won't work no matter what you do
urbex
Have you tried multiple mods to ensure it's not just one buggy one? im probably going to look like an idiot for this but, did you put the esp files in the data folder? cause if you put them in any other folder it won't work. and if you pirated it (not saying you did in any way, shape, or form) then mods won't work no matter what you doEven if OP pirated it mods would run fine. ub3rman123
What edition of the game do you have? If it's not GotY, you'll have to patch it for the majority of mods to work. Download and install the patch from here if you don't have GotY. If you're not sure about what version your Oblivion is, you can check it by going to the main menu of the game and seeing the number in the lower-left corner (1.2.0406 means I have no clue what I'm talking about and probably wrong). Edit: Okay, not sure why, but Bethesda seems to have taken all of Elderscrolls.com down for Skyrim hype, so instead I've linked to the Nexus download for it. I haven't tried the Nexus download myself, but I'm certain LHammonds knows what he's doing.

bben46
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end; then stop. ~Lewis Carrol, Alice in Wonderland In this case, the beginning is where you install the game. The best place is NOT the default location (unless you have Win XP) as that allows Vista and Win7 UAC to block mods and other programs.Recommended: C:\Games\Oblivion If you need it, Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the articles section of the Nexushttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=240 It allows you to preserve any saves and mods, or remove them completely - your choice. Now be sure you have the latest patch as it is needed for many modsLook in the lower left corner when you start the game for your version. The latest patch is v1.2.0146Go here for patches: http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_patches.htm Note: The patch is included on the Game of the Year version, as part of the Shivering Isles installation. Next, OBSE is required for many mods also, Get the latest version here: http://obse.silverlock.org/ And the utility programs, get the latest versions.BOSS: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20516OBMM: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097Wrye Bash: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 Don't make the noob mistake of installing a mass of mods all at once and expecting them, to just work. The time you think you save will be more than lost in troubleshooting.Install a few at a time and test - make sure they are working before adding more to the list. And, a troubleshooting tool for when you have a wacky problem and need to make sure it really is a mod causing it: Bben's Oblivion Revert to Vanilla gamehttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=340 And of course, If you have a pirated version, It's a good probability that is your problem.
