Help! Can't Fight with weapon - left click-does nothing

I just got my game loaded, and am still in the starting dungeon, and all of a sudden, left clicking with a weapon equipped does nothing. I can still block with right-click, can cast spells, but using a left-click does absolutely nothing. I can temporarily get it working by selecting a lockpick inmy my inventory and using it (in the air is fine, don't need to try to open it) with a left-click. Then switching to my weapon (I assigned it to the "1" hotkey) equips the weapon & I can manage maybe one battle before it dies again.

Also, I can no longer run nor jump. It's as if I"m in permanent sneak mode (I've tried turning both sneak & run off and on. No use. Anyone have any idea what might be causing these problems & how to fix them?

this sounds like you have a conflict of some sort

check the games' controls, and make sure that all the controls are correct

if this isn't working, it's probably a mod conflict or something

i know that the lockpick that you mentioned is from a mod, as in the vanille game, you can't equip a lockpick

also, you might want to check that OBSE is working properly for you

I know a solution. Quicksave. type coc weye then go through the door to autosave. Make sure your latest save is this autosave. Quit then reload the AUTOSAVE. then load your quicksave. Solved it for me a few times now.

I started mod conflict hunting, and it was the Side_s_Backpacks mod of all things. Once I disabled that everything seems to work fine. Thanks!

Just saw your response, HeX16 ... Thanks! I'll keep that for future reference, JIC.

  • 2 weeks later...

I use Side's Backpacks, and I don't have the problem.

It might be a mod that u have downloaded recently :)

They already figured out the problem.
