Smooth613
If you don't meet system requirements to run the game then in all likelihood that is indeed your problem. If you've ran the game in the past you've just been lucky or you had a slightly different configuration, such as different driver versions, that worked better for your hardware. Please follow the steps below to post information about your system so we can verify your hardware. If you do not meet minimum specs for the game you will have no other choice but to upgrade hardware. And since you have a laptop it's usually not a viable option to replace or add an actual video card. I've looked up your laptop and it does not have sufficient hardware to run Oblivion. You do not have a video card but instead have a video chipset and none of them are strong enough to run Oblivion. Nor are they supported. There are a couple different trims for your laptop but all of them come standard with an Intel Video Chipset and only one, the 5741G i5 version, have the option to upgrade to an actual video card. If your computer is the one linked below then you don't have proper hardware. You should still post a DXDIAG so we can be 100% sure though. Acer Aspire 5741 Core i3 350m Post a DXDIAG | Please use ["spoiler"]["/spoiler"] tags to enclose the information. XP: Go to Start->run, type “dxdiag” and hit enter. Click the Save All Information button near the bottom right. This will save a Dxdiag.txt in C:\ by default. Then open the dxdiag.txt and copy/paste the information into your post. VISTA/Windows 7: Go to Start->Search, type “dxdiag” and hit enter, click the Save All Information button near the bottom right. This will save a Dxdiag.txt in C:\ by default. Then open the dxdiag.txt and copy/paste the information into your post.
SandsOfTime404
So basically this thread wrapped all the way back around to the driver updates plan that I had initially mentioned. Interesting stuff.
Remcoz
The purpose of capitalization, punctuation and sentence structure is to make what you write clear to whoever is reading it..... If I have to read a post 2 or three times to figure out what you want, I and many others are not going to bother with it. /signed ... and I'll add that double/triple post without editing is .... demotivating too ^^ Edited December 24, 2010 by Remcoz
