Hello

 

I'm making some new meshes and textures for a new, small home. Going to post some updates here so that people can give feedback on it and track it's progress.

 

The idea behind this was a container-shaped house that could be airlifted to where you wanted it to be. Just select where you want the house and a few hours later your house is airlifted in, with all your stuff still inside. I do not have enough experience with the GECK to script that but I can make models and maybe, sometime in the future, someone will make it.

Unwrapping of the models are done. Working on the texture for the container itself.

Collision geometry is almost done, kept it low poly but it works for Havoc. Just don't go shooting as decals and other stuff will look wrong.

Also done some of the interior textures, pretty basic since I'm far from a texture-artist. A lot of tweaking is still necessary but I'm not sure how much to do before it's in game.

Remind me to update the normals. And to texture the door, I keep forgetting that one.

Those previews of the inside are just renders though, right?

 

Yes, all images in this thread so far are renders. Lighting is from high-quality MentalRay lighting so it will look different in game.

Does look good indeed...more a crash pad than a full blown vault thing...nice idea and good luck with it :)

That looks awesome. I'm new to the GECK, but it seems to me like the easiest way to script it to change location would be to just have it appear and disappear, but then you would have to use an interior cell unless there's some way to connect containers over distance. I'm really looking forward to seeing this in game. It's really neat.

Looks great so far, love the models. If you post it as a resource i'll probably do worn retextures of it for my use (don't really post anything but resources anymore). I suck at scripting but i like the direction your going with the models and would love to get my hands on them.
