  1. Facts from the official website: Creation Club is a collection of all-new content for both Fallout 4 and Skyrim ... created by Bethesda Games Studios and outside development partners including the best community creators. Creation Club is available via in-game digital marketplaces in both Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition and purchased with Credits. Credits are available for purchase on PSN, Xbox Live, and Steam. Your Credits are transferable and can be used in both games on the same platform. Whether you are a professional developer, artist, or modder; you can apply to be a Creator. All content must be new and original. All the content is approved, curated, and taken through the full internal dev cycle; including localization, polishing, and testing Creators are paid for their work and start receiving payment as soon as their proposal is accepted and through development milestones.
  2. The information you need is out there cause people are already getting brand new, fully skinned meshes into the game. But its all hush hush. Good luck figuring it out with all the modders out there in it for themselves, which doesn't really make sense.
  3. If I have to come across so much as another FO4 mod on the nexus whose author has hinted at having NIF access and not actually said how..... *groaaaaaaaaaaan* Come on people. Share the info, seriously. DOWNLOAD IT HERE You can load up any NIF file and export the OBJ'S to your favorite modelling app. While it doesn't have a whole lot of options, the claim is if you've got the smarts it might be possible to get rudimentary level mesh type mods up and running in the game. At the very least, you can start playing with the vanilla assets now and make some cool stuff while you patiently wait for more info and updates.
  4. Nivea! Thanks for the tip! I was trying to edit the eyebrows and if I keep them the same size they work. Shame though!
  5. Seems plenty of people are editing these files without issue but all I get is a brown face. Could someone please share the DDS file format info. Normally i use DXT5 interpolated alpha (photoshop), but when I load the game my characters face is brown and the textures don't load.

My name is listed as co-author, but it's a mistake. All I did was gave the guy who did own that mod, an unfinished base mesh, and he was so afraid of not giving me enough credit for it, he listed me as co author, even after the fact he made a lot of modifications to it and it could barely be classified as my work anymore.
  8. In response to post #24774814. #24776789 is also a reply to the same post. You totally missed the point of my post. 95% of my discontent had to do with the simple fact that this "issue" has brought to the surface, such a disgusting amount of hate that I never knew existed, or was even possible. And why? Did I even have any mods for sale? No. Only about 15 people were even part of the program, let me repeat that, *FIFTEEN*, so for people like you to say that people like me are greedy and entitled, when we DIDN'T EVEN DO ANYTHING, that's the truly heart breaking part. I was merely upset and disappointed over the fact that, for the briefest moment, the POSSIBILITY of some kind of return system existed, and it was so vilified, and so hated, that you guys decided to make, in large part, the mod-authors the target of that hate, and not bethesda and valve who were the ones that CREATED IT. So again, when people like you say to people like me, "good riddance we don't need you", it just proves how disposable you think we are. You're happy to use our mods when we're offering, and just as readily are willing to throw us away without a second thought. You take us for granted, and that makes you nothing else but a selfish individual. And you say that I am the one with the disease? I would say that anybody who posts comments like that, filled with hate, is the one with the disease. I haven't done anything. I didn't pull my mods from the Nexus. I didn't put any mods behind a paywall. Where did all this hate come from?

Couldn't have said it better myself. It is very disappointing to think about what COULD have been, had the scheme continued. I would have certainly loved to invest a huge amount of my time and effort into new sets of mods. And its what Valve and Bethesda wanted. They wanted a financial incentive to induce people with real marketable skills to consider creating mods of the highest quality (when they otherwise would not have considered doing it) The less desirable emergence of opportunists, and the inevitable sea of mediocrity, an unfortunate but unavoidable side effect.

Why have people suddenly forgotten about this? Secondly, the mods that would have gotten the most sales are the cosmetic ones, the weapons, armors and skin mods. These mods seldom break, and any mod-author with half a brain wouldn't upload something that didn't function. There would have been plenty of opportunists popping up all over trying to make a quick buck off of broken/ half finished mods for sure, but that brings us back to the user review system. One negative review and that mod will be exposed, it'll get buried and life will go on.

The decision gets made when the choice is made on whether or not to sell. I know that there are a lot of people who were ok with paying mod-authors for their work, they just had a huge issue with paying valve/bethesda that 75% for doing nothing but facilitate the exchange. But um... that's how businesses operate. There is ALWAYS going to be a middleman. I also think you are unaware of the volume of money that was actually being made by the paid mods scheme. Even with a measly 25% cut, the money being generated was PHENOMENAL. That mod-author with the skull face armor being sold at 1.99 per unit? that made at least 2100 sales before it was taken down. That's 4179$ of which 25% was his for a total of 1044$. Even after losing a few % to fees, that's a damn LOT of money for a few days of sales. If that was you making that money in 4 days, you wouldn't give a f- for 25%. You'd be more than happy to take what you got. Don't think for a second that if you were in a position to sell mods for that kind of money, that people wanted, you wouldn't leap at the chance.

THE ENTIRE MODDING SCENE IS ABOUT CHOICE. I make a choice to make mods. People make a choice to consume them. I make a choice to charge 50c for a particular mod... Yeah, no one asked me to be a modder. In just the same way, nobody asked you to be a consumer. I have a choice to charge 50c, you have a choice on whether or not to pay 50c. What gives you the right to come along and say you may not charge 50c?

I am a victim of your hate. So someone wants to make 50c on a future mod that WOULDNT HAVE EXISTED IF NOT FOR THE SCHEME. Mod authors are, and always will be, victims of mod-user hate. The hate that has been written for mod-authors here. The hate that has been written for mod-authors on steam. The hate that you wrote against me just right now, and all of the hate yet to be written.

Mod-users are happy to use you and your mods while you're offering, and then just as happily ready to throw you away without second thought. You know what that is an example of? Taking another human being for granted for your own selfish needs.

I will delete all my stuff of the workshop cause it is just awful over there.
  16. EDIT: I'm deleting this comment not because I regret what I said (I meant every word of it) but because I want people to stop adding their comments. This is a useless discussion, and I didn't realise that in sharing my opinion I would be feeding the very hate I was taking issue with in the first place. There's enough of that already out there. We all have a right to our own opinions. I have mine, you have yours, feel free to hate me for it, think me weak, whatever. It doesn't matter to me. I simply had something to say and Its been lifted off my chest already. So thankyou for your replies, both good and bad.
  17. Hello. I need to speak to someone about a mod ownership issue. This has nothing to do with copyright infringement, or content theft, or anything like it. Nor is it a personal issue with another nexus member or mod provider. I simply have a long standing issue with a particular mod, in the realm of miscommunication/misrepresentation, that needs to be resolved. I would contact the mod owner but he left the nexus site a long, long time ago. Thankyou.

  20. You don't need existing BSDismemberSkin data, and you certainly don't need to see the actual bodypart correctly named in the list. If the modifier is blank (or doesn't contain the data you think it ought to contain), you can easily add that data yourself in a matter of seconds In this example of an Elven Cuirass, you can clearly see the 3 Skyrim body partitions: Main Body, Forearms and Calves. These are the only ones you will ever see/need. http://www.favoredsoul.com/images/TESV-2013-31-08-10-51-40-55.jpg If for whatever reason you've loaded a mesh into Max and believe that one of the Body Partitions is missing, you will need to add that data yourself. Do note that there is no 'quick fix' or way to avoid such omissions; you will ALWAYS have to adjust the modifier yourself if something has gone wrong. In the example below, let's pretend that the Calves partition is missing. We will have to add in the data ourselves. http://www.favoredsoul.com/images/TESV-2013-31-08-10-54-32-81.jpg See the image below: [1] In the right hand panel, underneath Dismember Skin Partition, you'll see a + and - symbol. [2] Clicking the + symbol will create a new partition called Torso. At the same time, the current face selection (the faces highlighted in red) will reset. This indicates that no part of the mesh is contained inside the partition. [3] We are designating this new Torso partition as the partition for Calves. In the right hand panel you will see a drop down list underneath the Body Part where you can rename this newly created Partition to Skyrim, Calves L/R. http://www.favoredsoul.com/images/TESV-2013-31-08-10-55-01-17.jpg [4] This new partition now needs to contain a selection for the calves. All you need to do is select the faces on the mesh that correspond to the geometry for the calves. [5] Additionally, deselect the selection you just made, from whichever body partition already contains that selection. If you look at the image above, you will see that the Main Body partition contains the Calves selection. It must be separated from this partition so that it becomes like in the screenshot below. http://www.favoredsoul.com/images/TESV-2013-31-08-11-34-22-99.jpg This process of adding new partitions is exactly the same if no partitions exist at all, or if the BSDismemberSkin modifier isn't even applied to the mesh. Regarding your second query about the BSLightingShader property... you will ALWAYS be required to re-apply the BSLightingShader property every time you export a mesh from max. There is no way to avoid this as Max does not know how to export proper BSLightingShader properties.
  21. You're welcome. Yes, you need to drop the new AA onto each vanilla boot item. You don't necessarily need to find a way to force femininity. It would be easier to just remove all references to any male meshes, so that when a user selects the male option, nothing will appear. PS: No I did not make the Better Males Favoredsoul's meshes, even though my name is plastered all over it. Once upon a time I gave chris some help getting a mesh to work, and then he decided to name it after me in gratitude. He went on to make many modifications, and because it was named after me, people think it was me who made it.
  22. That's correct. That's the problem with creating custom races that use non standard body meshes. There is no way around it.
  23. Why so complicated? The solution is simple. Create ONE New Armor Addon Property (ideally, by duplicating one of the existing boot armor addons, for example IronBootsAA)In edit mode, deselect all of the Additional Races, except your custom raceReplace the biped model selection for male and female with your hooves meshes.Drag/Drop the new ArmorAddonOn into each vanilla boot item. Whenever your character equips a pair of boots, it won't equip the boots and instead re-equip your hooves. There is no overwriting or changing of existing ArmorAddon data. All you are doing is adding an additional provision for your custom race, that will ONLY affect your custom race. This will not create any conflicts with other mods, but should be a lower priority in the load order. EDIT: This solution works on the assumption that your hooves mesh is not attached to the body mesh, in much the same manner as the regular male/female foot mesh.
