This one is fun and I've used it many times.

Unfortunately, forum protocol prohibits me from telling you the names that I've given to various NPC's...

Yeah, I know that is fun, but I was wondering if you could rename items.

I tried it and... No. It doesn't work on items, containers or activators. Just npc's, creatures, and yourself.

I meant other ways I tried 'setfullname', 'setitemfullname', and 'setobjectfullname'.

Ah. No those don't exist either. But there is SetCellFullName, which is a nice one as well

Can you pass the player's name to this function? For instance, could you cause a cell to be named $PCName's Mansion?

That function was nice for Morrowind. People adressing you with your name, your name on a scroll...

I'm not sure if this is possible. There is no way to check an actors current name. Unless 'GetActorValue name' works but I don't think so. It's not possible with OBSE either.

But in CharGen, you type in the name of the player. Would it be possible to open a new menu in which you have to type in the player's name again, which will then be used on bought houses? But this probably needs some kind of GetName function which doesn't exist...

(By the way if you change the name of for example a goblin warlord with setactorfullname, you change the base objects name so every goblin warlord who had the same base ID as the first one will also have this new name.)

Uhh... please check the date of the last post in a thread before posting. Your post doesn't really add anything much and this thread is almost 3 months old, thus your post is thread necromancy. Please read the rules before posting, thanks.
