ArchMageMatt
I'm trying to make a party member for DA:O - I have the NPC done out but is there a guide anywhere that explains the scripts required, how to place him in the party selection screen, etc.? Thanks for the help!
RustyBlade
I'm going to give you this page: http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Tutorials rather than one single tutorial/guide as you will need more than one of them.
ArchMageMatt
Thanks for the links. But, there wouldn't possibly be an easier companion guide than there is on that page, would there? The whole excel spreadsheets and other things tripped me up.
ZeRoToXiN
Thanks for the links. But, there wouldn't possibly be an easier companion guide than there is on that page, would there? The whole excel spreadsheets and other things tripped me up. My linkhttp://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=164646 I have no idea about modding myself but that seems more straightforward, at least as a starting to point to give you a general idea of what you have to do. Thandal
LoL! I noticed that essentially the first "tip" in ZeRoToXiN's link is to "Read everything here" followed by the very same link to the Toolset wiki site that Rusty provided. If the things discussed described in the Toolset wiki "trip you up", then you have to work harder to understand them. Modding DA isn't particularly hard. (Well, it can be. Depends on what you're trying to do...) But in any case you do have to understand what the pieces of the game (the files) are, and how they interact with each other.
ladydesire
On NPC mod Creation and compatiblity is probably a better choice for starting out making companions. It's the one I'm now using for Lealion the Mage and will be using it for Secrets of the Tevinter Wardens, which has 5 (4 permanent, 1 temporary) companions.
