cryocry
Did you extract everything into the folders at once (in other words, did you highlight everything and extract them all at the same time?)? Sometimes you need to take the textures/etc. out of the folder they're in (ex., if they're in a folder called "3rd Pax" before you find the Data folder), and place them in the main file part (the part without all the subdivisions from the main file). Whoa, I hope this makes sense!
Tiberiu911
In order for the game to see it, the textures must have the same name as the nif. Follow theese stepts and it should work. When im talking about NifSkope I assume you have it. 1. Choose a nif and load it in Nifskope. 2. Save as with a different name. Your textures will bear the same name as well. Lets say you want to retexture a male ebony armor. Save as in Oblivion/data/meshes/armor/Me/myarmor.nif 3. Open your image editor. Personally, I use Photoshop, but if you have the right plug-ins everything should work fine. 4. Create your own texture. Save as .dds and call it myarmor 5. Now with the same texture, make a normal map out of it. The game needs normal maps if not the textures wont look good in the final game. If your using photoshop and you have the nvidia plug-in installed, you will find the normal map filter under filters/nvidia/normal map filter. 6. Once you opened it click ok. Your texture will become bluish purple. 7. Save as myarmor_n (Only use the underline for normal maps! Oblivion will detect the _n and will use it as your textures normal map. It must have the same name as the texture and as the nif.) 8. Your myarmor.dds and myarmor_n.dds must be located in Oblivion/data/textures/armor/me The same as the mesh but in textures. 9. Return to your nifskope window and open your texture (it should be the purple flower under NiTriStrips(under NiNode) in NifSkope. Can you see it? Then everything is well. Save your .nif. 10. Close all other applications and open the CS. Load oblivion.esm from data and wait until its finished. 11. Once oblivion.esm is loaded, go to your object panel, armor, ebony. Select an ebony cuirras from there. You see the rectangle at top right saying data/meshes/armor..../ebonycuirass.nif ? Click on it and select your .nif (remember you saved it in /meshes/armor/me/myarmor.nif). The cs will go look for the texture bearing the same name. The rectangle below is for the icon. 12. Very important, rename your item and change its ID (if not every ebony cuirass in the game will look like yours). 13. From here I think you know what to do. Drop it in a cell ang go test it out!
