More actual in-game music

I went digging for a mod that did this, no luck so far, so...

 

It's weird when you think about it...the player of Oblivion constantly gets to here music during the game, but it's not really "there", just part of the sound track. During a couple mods I played, though, you walk into a room and there is actual music playing that seems like it's supposed to be really playing in the room you're in (my first encounter with this was during a mod I played where you enter the castle in Bruma during a party, and there is different music playing). I know it may be a little weird to have music playing in a room when there are no minstrels or musicians in the game, but does anyone know if there is a mod that adds something like this regardless? It really improved the atmosphere for me, I'd like to hear more of it.

One big problem with music mods is that most music that you can download from the web is copyrighted. And modders usually don't want to pay the copyright fee or secure the written legal permission required to distribute it. We ban several a week for posting copyrighted music mods after ignoring the warnings. Remixes and covers are still covered by copyright.

 

Many sites that claim their music is free to use are outright lying. We would rather the music industries rabid lawyers went after them and not us. :whistling:

 

If you do upload a music file or a mod that includes music from another site - please include a link to the source so we can check it out for copyright infringement. Very few musicians and no music companies allow unlimited free distribution of their work. - Downloading for your own use is entirely different from uploading it to a site which is a form of distributing it to others.

Very true. this was always an issue with the other communities for other games I've helped mod too. I've been fortunate to have friends who composed their own music, but for the most part, the good stuff out there is usually copyrighted.

 

By music, I'm actually thinking just some slow strumming of a stringed instrument with a little tambourine and flute accompaniment, sort of renaissance fair type stuff. I just wish the taverns and inns had more atmosphere.

I had the mod you are talking about good sir but they removed it due to the reasons stated above. I could possibly remake this mod but I will have to obtain the creator of the music's permission (and provide proof).
