RichWebster Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) Hey guys I have a post on this subject in the mod only forum, as well as on the official Bethesda Skyrim modding forum. I'm looking at getting some community led competitions together to inject some fresh positivity into the place; after recent events. Take a look over here for some of the posts - http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1517065-skyrim-mod-competition-brainstorm/ As modders who haven't seen the thread, and as mod users who don't visit the Bethesda forums, what sorts of things would you like to see? How should it be run? What themes would be fun and interesting? This is for the community after all so let's put our heads together! Prizes will vary but I'm looking at cash prizes funded by community donations, game or gaming related gifts funded in the same way, and sometimes just the satisfaction of winning  I manage similar things for another community and have been able to get hold of game codes from developers and publishers before when needed, so we'll just see what happens. Mattiewagg Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Modding contests are already being held on r/skyrimmods. #1 was home building, 2 is in progress and on boss battles. There aren't monetary prizes but there are others and it's a lot of fun.
Ph0rce Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Wow, been a long time since I was last back to the BethSoft forums. I saw the thread, and the idea of a contest is always welcome. Personally, I'd love to see a contest based around the creation of assets (models, textures, weapons, statics, clutter... maybe even a new tileset). It would be something out of the ordinary, and also something that I might personally join (not much of a CK user myself, unfortunately; it me it's something of a necessary evil).
RichWebster Posted May 2, 2015 Author Posted May 2, 2015 (edited) Matt see my reply in the mod author thread :) Ph0rce the plan will be to host a variety of themed contests, to cater to as many skillsets as possible. So design, scripting, quest writing, modeling and asset creation, and varying themes surrounding and expanding on those crafts. I want it to be a little different, something new (ish) and something fun. Edited May 2, 2015 by B1gBadDaddy
