Ok, ive seen people posting stuff like

"add vats to skyrim"

"add perks!"

"use the kinect!"

the elder scrolls series is not Fallout 3

it is not wii sports (dont know any kinect game titles)

it is NOT another series, it is in the TES series, so why ask for all these things? I admit, perks are a good idea, but the way they were implemented in FO3 is not good for TES

TES has a set style, and they wont stray from it guys, so why do you ask for these things? i mean seriously? They can sound like good ideas, but picture oblivion with vats... it would suck! imagine oblivion with the kinect! it isnt possible! im sorry if i seem like a total horse's rear end, but this is just unrealistic! I myself would love a motion senser TES game, it sounds epic! but it wouldnt be TES, it would be something different!

sorry for my rant, but please, think things through

i couldn't agree more about this

i mean, Fallout 3 and New Vegas are great games, and though they have their merits, TES is a completely series, and shouldn't be just a copy of another series (i mean, who with a right mind would create a new game that is just a rich copy of another game???)

from what you have written, people have asked for all the things that would change Skyrim into a completely new game, and it won't even fit the old TES genre

whatever happened to a good old RPG playing??

i mean, if all you want is a hack n' slash game, why ruin a great series like TES???

if you want a Wii game, go get a Wii, no need to ruin an existing game (or one in the making)

i have seen quite a lot of good ideas, but i think that if it was up to the people here to decide what the game would be, it would be a mix of every stupid idea other games ever had, so it would be like taking parts from hundreds of bodies, and claiming that you have created a human being

Frankenstein anyone?? you know, the one that was chased by an angry mod.........

anyhow, i would really hope that Skyrim will be loyal to the TES basics, and not some stupid game that has so much, that it has nothing

thank you

i admit, perks sound like a good idea if implemented differently

like maybe when you get blade to a certain level you pick from a number of blade perks, that would be ok

but otherwise, people should go make their own kinect vats medeviel dragon game!

again, i agree completely

i really like the idea of perks that you get when your skill is good enough

this could really work well, and it would make different skills much more useful, is implemented properly

let's just hope that the game will be done properly

i would hate to have waited for around 5 years for a game, only to find it disappointing :pinch:

My guess is Skyrim is somewhere between 85 and 90% done. I don't think they are going to be adding any new features this late. When a game has a 5 year development cycle, the last 6 months to a year should be dedicated to cleaning it up, polishing and finishing work on features and removing those that are not going to make the deadline. The time for new features is passed.

The beta will likely go into test sometime this summer, (if it's not already being tested) with bugs being fixed right up to the 11-11-11 release date. As the release of New Vegas on steam has been so successful (from their point of view - not mine) I expect Skyrim to be released on Steam also which allows working on bugs right up to and beyond the release date.

You're right, they have a style. However, that doesn't mean they can't implement new ideas and keep with that style. As bben46 stated, they're pretty far into the game development already, so it doesn't really matter. They just see good ideas in other games that could make this new one better. It doesn't matter if it would suck ('cause I agree with you on the VATS thing), but it's no different than if someone had a completely original idea and publicly pondered how it could add to Skyrim.
