gkpfour
Hello! The idea is simple, to expand on the options available to stealth characters by adding a vendor (seems the simplist method) that sells rats (or in this case skeevers) and chickens that that move up to hostile npc's and explode! The amount available is limited per restock cycle and the price is based on the power. The idea for lore..somewhat (or maybe more for logic) is that the critters have been breed to act in a particular manner and have been feed a explosive compound that has been magicly enhanced. The idea for the use is you buy the item and drop it to spawn a neutral said creature that has a simple AI ment to search and move up to hostile npc's then are triggered to exploded based off proximity. And yes i have absolutely no idea how hard this could be to acheive modding wise. ---------------------------------------Ideas of balance or immersion.---------------------------------------AVAILABILITYInstead of buying from a stock, you must make a order for said creature, reason being that the critters are allready breed and trained thay just need to be prepped befor being sold.. as in being feed the explosive compound and or magicly enhanced or something. PRICEINGI am thinking that the price should be set above the cost of a high level scroll, the idea being that high level magics dont normaly kill in one go, that and the whole process to make such a "weapon" is more complexe and resource intensive. which is why the trade off for the price and availability should be enough power to one shot 1 maybe 2 npc's. PURPOSEThe real benefit is simple stealth.. releasing a neutral creature that patrols for hostile npc's and explodes in proximity while haveing nothing to do with the player faction should be a very powerfull asset to stealth characters. it could even be a way to get away with murder.... though that all depends on how thay are set up as creatures i supose. BALANCEAside from price, i only one small idea here. WEIGHT. that being your carrying around a creature... or maybe a creature in a cage that keeps it from explodeing... so its not very light, the weight is set so you cant have too many and gives the player a reason to choose carefully where to use it and when would be best... boss groups maybe? or on a large camp to reduce their numbers befor the fight starts. My insperation for this comes from two sources, the many exploading chicken mods on the nexus and the movie wanted. which really tweeked my interest for assassin characters. First time posting on idea, hope its not too sloppy.
notmyhome
You could look into Dragonborn's Spider Scroll crafting, they've got exploding spiders.
alanovichromanov
Create a new chicken, skeever, or other animal of your choice.Add a script to the creature so it explodes on death. The "Witchlight" script (from wisps I think) works fine, just fill in the death explosion part.Duplicate a Conjuration spell like Conjure Familiar and make it summon your new creature.Make scrolls that use the spell.Create a vendor that sells the scrolls. That should achieve pretty much what you want :)
gkpfour
Thanks for the replies, i do think that thay are helpfull.I feal as though the essence of my mod request/suggestion was missed though... then again maybe im in the wrong place, lol.The whole thing is for stealth characters and is not supposed to have anything to do with magic...(besides the backround logic behind how the pets are prepped and become explosive.) Not only that but theres a couple reasons behind why i dont want to cast spells.. aside from character class/roleplay.That being spells are not silent... and i hate haveing to think,,, oh! ill get a mod to fix this simple issue when it shouldnt even be a part of the base mechanic. Also i dont want to cast a spell for this because that makes the use of it WAYYY to readily available... and is unbalance as well as uninvolved compared to ordering a 1 time use item that cant be stocked up on and spammed.(by way of the weight limitations)Well... ill end my opinions their, i just wanted to be clear that i DONT want to see a scroll or spell. something abit more organic plz.(if that makes sense.)lol.. i tryed to start makeing a mod, but when i got to makeing a room it was a mess(hard to make it look nice when looking for all the right assets), and i was afraid about where it would even be located... then gave up... try at it again a lil later lol.. notmyhome
Spider Scrolls are only "Scrolls" in a game mechanic way. What you hold in your hand when "casting" is an alive, breathing(?) spider. Check it out here.
alanovichromanov
When I said duplicate a Conjuration spell, I actually meant the MagicEffect. You can set it to be silent in the bit where you choose which sounds it will use. Use the magic effect to create new scrolls, not a new spell. This will limit your casts to the number of scrolls you have bought. Also, scrolls do not rely on magic skills, anyone can use them with no magic ability and magicka cost at all. As notmyhome said, Dragonborn's spiders work pretty much this way.
