Rage912
Hey I just wanted to make a quicl post about the patch. I know that there is a unofficial patch for FO3 but there is not one for FONV. I am going through the game unpatched and without NVSE but I still have it in my FONV folder. I just want to know when or if there will be one being uploaded to NVNexus. KMA
Actually this one is all Obsidian's not Beth's though they should have had someone monitoring it with the ability to step in and take things over when the bugs outnumber the reasons to play. There was a compilation of patches that was around here a few weeks ago, but it was causing a lot of CTDs for me so I stopped using it. I know the person was looking to hand it off to someone else. Now the thing that should really make you wonder, is that there have been Four Official patches, and One DLC released, and the buglist is well over 100 items long (probably closer to 200). Their latest patch actually fixed about 15 items, and the first DLC introduced as many. So if things continue at this rate, the game will be patched in 2012 unless the community does it for them, but so far no one wants to do that much work so others make money. In F3 there was a lot less to patch, and many of the bugs were more esoteric, so you were not going to hit most of them. That is not the case in FNV. Basically, you have to spoil the game and read everything you can before starting or else you will have hopelessly broken quests with your chosen companions. I just found the wonderful Boone's screwed up quest, just because some r-tard Legionnaire told me that if I did not like him (in Nipton) I should kill him. So I did, and now the game is trying to spawn a dead guy, which makes no sense, so it immediately crashes at Bitter Springs. This is just one of the many ways to see your desktop again, and each will sap your desire to play the game a little more until you shelve it like so many players have done (until it is properly patched). So I suggest giving up on trying to be surprised (as most of them are just disappointments anyway - unlike the F3 quests which were much better in their design), and just read up on everything so you do not get caught at a CTD roadblock. Either that or do like so many others have told me they are, and put it back on the shelf for a few more months and see if a decent patch is out then. Do not get me wrong, it is possible to play the game, but it is very likely you will not be able to finish major side-quests. Right now I cannot finish Boone or Ede's quests due to bugs. That is two out of my three companions, so I really wish I had read everything. Not playing is not an option as a modder I need to game test (but I am moving to another game soon, and this nonsense helped in that decision). If you need a good place to start, I just found out how messed up Veronica is too. I dumped Boone, and moved to her, and here is another major companion, that 70+ testers did not have any problem with. Right... :whistling: Edited January 17, 2011 by KMA
