So even without out ANY shaders loaded the glitch still happens.

is the support plugin still active?

how sure are you that OBGE is the problem?

(I tracked down the problem with my mods, it wasn't OBGE)

So just googled the glitch and apparently I'm not the only one having this problem.

Basically, I have installed the base OBGE v2 pack and I am having a problem. Whenever I add ANY OBGE Shader, the whole screen glitches out when I get hit, making the game unplayable. I cant find any threads or posts about this and was wondering if any of you have had this issue and managed to resolve it. Any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks.

If your support plugin is inactive and you have no shaders in your shaderlist.txt that only leaves OBGEv2,dll in the OBSE plugin directory. check your oblivion directory for OBGE and OBSE logs, they might have info on what the problem is.

Error loading shaderlist.txt. Could that have something to do with it?

if there is no shaderlist.txt in the directory it will always say that, so if it isn't there then i doubt that's the problem, if you do have a shaderlist.txt in the shaders directory then that would indicate a problem because OBGE isn't finding it.

I suspect the problem is to do with the depth buffer. browse to your my documents->my games->oblivion directory and open the OBGE.ini file, change bUseDepthBuffer=1 to bUseDepthBuffer=0

go into the game again and see if that fixes the problem.

I should warn you though that quite a few shaders rely on the depth buffer, if you are forced to run the game without it those shaders won't work.

hmm i thought that might be it, don't forget to change the OBGE.ini file back.

sorry if this is a stupid question but are you running the latest OBSE?

if not get the latest (19b I think) if you are you could try going back a version.

same goes for OBGE, there was an update a few days ago, if you aren't running that one give it a try, or if you are try going back to an earlier version.

that's all i can think of really, update grapics card drivers is usually a good idea too.

after that, i'm stumped.

EDIT - I just noticed an important difference between my OBGE log and yours, third line down mine has:

RESZ format supported.

unfortunately I don't have a clue what that means, there is a RAWZ.fx file in the shaders directory, might be something to do with that.

anyway I think Hickory is right, you will have to talk to one of the mod makers, I would ask them about that RESZ format though.

sorry I can't be any more help.

MartG66 is indeed correct and found the issue. You're not loading the RAWZfix.fx shader. Certain cards require you to run this fix in order for OBGE to work. This is documented in the ReadMe. You need to load the RAWZfix.fx file, reload the game, check for the error, and post your newly generated OBGE.log here.

You simply need to drop the RAWZfix.fx file into the Shaders folder and alter the OBGE.ini file to activate the fix.

bUseRAWZfix=1 ;0/1 = off/on respectively
bUseRAWZfix - Activates a fix for graphics cards that use the RAWZ depth buffer format.

My log, with OBGE working perfectly, also reports the same as MartG66's...

RESZ format supported.

I'm fairly confident that is your problem.
