Hickory
I can't help you if it's the location of the Steam installation, because I wouldn't know where that was, or if it can be changed -- I suspect not. I can tell you that Oblivion has all sorts of problems when installed to the default 'Program Files' protected folder structure. Normally, when you get a CTD it is because of a bad or missing resource, but pinpointing it is very difficult in text only communication. All I can suggest is that you start again, from a completely clean uninstall and reinstall, and playtest every mod, one at a time as you install them, and that includes OBSE/OBGE. If you want to go down this road, I suggest that you follow Bben's Reinstall procedure.

adam9122
Okay, so I completely un-installed Oblivion and re-installed it using the guide you gave me. I installed OBSE, OBGE, OBMM, BOSS, and Wrye Bash. I rebuilt my bashed patch and ran the game. It keeps crashes the exact same way it did before. But now I've figured out the problem. When I disable my bashed patch it works fine. So what does that mean? I'm building my Bashed Patch wrong, again. Will someone please give me a guide or something on how to build your Bashed Patch correctly? Thanks
Smooth613
Select each option, and each file on the right, individually, rebuilding the patch and testing the game after each. Once you select an option in the Bashed Patch and the game no longer loads then you know that's the cause. Post exactly what option is causing the crash for further information. *Side note: It does not matter one bit that you have the STEAM version. If you properly install everything, OBSE included, it will function correctly and mods will properly detect that you have OBSE installed. You can launch Oblivion from your STEAM library and OBSE automatically hooks in, when properly installed. So if a mod said it couldn't detect OBSE then indeed you don't have OBSE properly installed. Check the appropriate documentation for installation instructions. Edited January 3, 2011 by Smooth613
adam9122
Yay! I figured out whats making it crash! It crashes when I select the "Tweak Actors" option. If I don't select that the game runs perfectly. So what should I do to fix this? Thanks everyone for all the help! adam9122
So, I finally got everything sorted out. Except two things: 1. This glitch is still happening. I assume it has something to do with the Bashed Patch, but I can't find anything that has to do with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sohwIwr0ro 2. In my inventory, instead of saying "Silver Arrow", it says "Arrow, Silver". I assume that has to do with the Bashed Patch but I can't find anything that has to do with THAT, either. moonsun
Go back to bash deselect everythings, EVERYTHINGS, then select only what is inside merge patches, only in merge patches, CLICK rebuild.
Smooth613
No, that's not how you properly build the patch, Moonsun. If you only select the merge patch option you will miss many many benefits and compatibility "fixes" from the other options. That's what Bash Tags are for. They aren't just there for no reason, they are tagged for specific causes to alleviate issues and ensure the mod(s) function properly. Adam9122: You are still not quite getting it... In the box on the right you can select each individual option you want to use. You don't have to select everything on the right, it's optional. The reason the names of items have changed is because you have selected that specific tweak. Again you need to actually read the descriptions for each option you are selecting, and obviously you are still not doing that. You're just randomly and blindly clicking around hoping for the best, and that's not going to get you very far as you've noticed. I suggest you actually take the time, maybe 10-15 minutes tops, to read and understand what each option in the Bashed Patch does. When you mouse over them a description is listed. In the ReadMe that's included in the archive you downloaded there is even more in-depth information about all of the Bashed Patch options. I suggest you take the time to read it also. Until you decide to pay attention and read some information you will continue to experience these "issues". I think this was already linked but here it is again. You would greatly benefit from reading it.Wrye Bash Pictorial Guide for Newbies - by alt3rn1ty Good luck.
Mortrix927
Well, apparently you have OBSE installed correctly, and the correct version of it; otherwise you wouldn't get to the main menu. When building your patch, watch the panel to the right as you go through the options. If there's nothing there, you do not need that particular option for your patch. On the other hand, if it says "this option is for "X mod you do not have" ", you don't need that option either. Also, I noticed you have the open cities .esp for New Roads and Bridges, but you don't have open cities (well, at least that I can tell). If you are using the open cities option that's inside BC-go ahead and use it, but deactivate "the other" NRB4 .esp. It's kinda a "one or the other, but not both" situation. Also, I noticed your using "Living Economy"; you should replace it with "Enhanced Economy" - which is the updated version by the same author.
