BFG99
With my current character, I use Perfect Amber armor quite a bit, as well as amber weapons. I like the armor--other than the helm--except for one thing: it ought to be at least somewhat see-through if it's truly made of Amber. Would anyone be interested in the following:Modify male and female vanilla SI armor sets so that they are at least 25% translucent, and possibly even transparent; but make sure the "shinyness" remains. No other changes to the vanilla meshs/textures allowed.Do the same thing with all vanilla Amber weaponsIf you still have energy left, take a look at the Amber weapons added by our WEPON mod (link in my signature) and do the same thing there Anyone interested? alonsomartinez
Hmm , I could see an error since the Amber Armor isnt all armor there are some cloth parts as well that wouldnt look good if they were translucent.
BFG99
That is true...and I have no idea what it would look like to try to turn the Amber sections translucent/transparent while maintaining the cloth parts as solid. I'm not a mesher or texturerer, and don't even know if it's possible. If someone tried doing this request they might have to add some new cloth sections under the amber (where the cloth is present but was not visible before). I would be fine with changes such as this--I just don't want the overall shape or design of the armor to change. This may be a more difficult request than I originally thought. BFG99
Well, that sunk like a rock! I'll make one more post and then if no one's interested, so be it.
Deleted1848331User
If you go into NifScope, you can click on the arrows until you see a paint pallette. Then, click it. Where it says Alpha, lower it a bit until its as see thru as you want. Glossiness should be raised slightly to so it still looks good
LHammonds
Here is something to consider: - Geometry - You would need to modify the geometry to support transparency. Just turning on transparency and trying to control it strictly through the textures will yield a fairly poor / strange result if the entire model won't be transparent. Illustration: Unmodified sword, texture transparency only, modified geometry + transparency - Transparency Glitch - I don't know of any game that handles transparency very well...especially when it comes to multiple transparent objects in line of view. If your armor has transparency and your shield has transparency, it will likely cause a glitch when viewing your character from the outside looking through the shield (the armor is the 2nd transparent object being seen and will sometimes completely disappear leaving your character naked. This is why I will not have a transparent version of the Vvardenfell Glass armor. The weapons and shields will have transparency so I don't want glitches to freak out the armor.
