OOO with yellow blocks

Oh damn, I had a feeling the desktop was a bad choice. I'll uninstall and reinstall again I guess. About OOO- I am not really sure what OMOD is, so I guess I did it manually. Once I downloaded it, the mod had it's own launcher and found my game automatically. All I did was check the components I wanted to install.

Thanks for that link. I will try and go through the installation process of everything correctly this time, then come back if I am still having troubles.

Ok, I am getting really discouraged. I downloaded and installed BOSS fine. I installed Wrye Bash, then downloaded and ran this, and now it says to download this, but I can't find it.

If I only want to use OOO, can I use Oblivion Mod Manager, or do I still need Wrye Bash and BOSS?

I presume, then, that you don't have Oblivion Mod Manager installed. It would be better if you did, then you could download the OOO in OMOD version, so it's script will guide you through the installation.

Download Oblivion Mod Manager

Download the full OMOD version. You only need the OOO_133_Complete.7z (402.6Mb)

Start OBMM and press 'Create'. Point it to the downloaded 7z archive and allow it to extract the OMOD, which you can then double click in OBMM right hand window.

Forget those links, get them from the Nexus.

Follow the installation directions here:

Installing Wrye Bash by Smooth613:

You need to install v287 then 290 as certain files needed by 290 are in previous archives.

Upon reinstalltion you need to ensure you properly install Wrye Bash and the Python Libraries. Proper procedure is as follows.

* Go to Control Panel and remove anything with the word Python in it.

* Next, uninstall Wrye Bash and delete the Mopy folder. If you used the installer version you should have an uninstaller as well.

* After you have removed everything related to Python and Wrye Bash it's time to reinstall, properly.

* Install WryePython03a from the Wrye Bash page here on TESNexus

* Install Wrye Bash 275 from the Self-Installer

* Update to Wrye Bash 287 by overwriting the Oblivion\Mopy folder.

* Finally, Update to Wrye Bash 290 by again overwriting the Mopy folder.

* Go to your Oblivion Mopy folder and create a shortcut for Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw and send to desktop.

* You're done! Double click the shortcut and Wrye Bash should launch and you're good to go.

Wrye Bash v291 will be released as a full Self-Installer version and will eliminate many of the above steps. It's currently in BETA and it's working very well, I've had virtually no problems with v291. The full release to the public should happen in the near future so keep your eyes open for it.

The Wrye Bash Pictorial Guide for Newbies is also and excellent way to get your hands dirty with Wrye Bash. Check it out!

If Wrye Bash fails to start or you are still having issues, you need to post the bug dump information here or in the Official Thread @ BethSoft for someone to look over.

Good luck!

Now that I installed OOO with OMOD, BOSS, and Wrye Bash, it seems to be working. I have not come across any bugs and the mod is definitely running- it's so much nicer than original oblivion. Thanks a lot for the help. I am really anxious to go mod crazy now and get other graphic enhancing mods. Is this torch mod a dual wield mod? I have yet to read about it, but I would really like a dual wield mod.

Again, thanks for the help. I can't believe I got it working.

Yep, having OOO installed is like playing another game -- you'll never be able to play vanilla Oblivion with any satisfaction again, that's for sure.

There's no dual wield mod, as such, but you can get pseudo dual wield mods, where a shield is made to look like a weapon.

Remember, about going mod crazy, every time you install, remove, or edit a mod, use BOSS then Bash, and your headaches will be few.

Good luck.
