Something that i see happening over and over

You may think of it as a rant. it is just my opinion about something that happens only too much.

Nowadays, it seems to me nobody can enjoy or celebrate an event, any event, without partying. If there is no party, there is no fun. Ok fine, have you party, but what really gets at me is that they never seem to have "fun/party" without being drunk. IT seems to me if they want to have fun with their mates while going out, alcohol needs to be involved.

You may call me anti-social, but the last past years seeing people that should never be alcoholic at their age actually be alcoholic has hit me hard. I mean, fun = alcohol or fun = party, or fun = drugs ect just doesn't work out. People need to learn that to enjoy an event, or celebrate something you don't need to be high on weed or drunk from alcohol, why cant one enjoy and event without all those? Why cant you enjoy and event with a cup of tea with your family in front of a film?

Sorry, maybe its just where i live or maybe its everyone except me that think its normal. I cant go on my facebook with seeing all tons of post saying, cant wait for tonights party or cant wait to get drunk, or its time to throw up in the toilets ect ect

Thats it, sorry if i insulted anybody.

People have always associated drinking with having a good time, nothing new there. Maybe the only difference between now and then is that people are so stressed out, and so up tight from normal life that they have to get liquored up to be able to pull that stick from their rear and have some fun. It starts at about the end of Elementary School. I blame it on there no longer being daily recess and a chance to play outside, spending an hour or so each day to just do whatever the heck we want without being pressured for results. It sounds simple, but I think that's really the root of this as well as many things related to it.

Well... Collage age kids excluded. They drink because that's what everyone else is doing, partying doesn't work so well without it, and they need something to blame for any lapses in judgment. But this is important too since it lets (most) people get drinking for the sake of drinking out of their systems so they can mature a bit.

I don´t like drinking alcohol. I haven´t been drunk for 20 years. I don´t need it anymore, I can still party, laugh, make crazy things, what ever. Some of my friend drink and some don´t. It is actually fairly easy to make a party without alcohol, and have just as much fun. (and no hangovers  )

I agree with @Vagrant, but I think there is more. It is like we have moved a limit for everything. Fun in amusement parks has to be more crazy, parties have to be more crazy, thus more intake of alcohol. We are so stressed in the everyday, that we want to really freak out when we amuse our selves :woot:

Drinking and smoking is a waste and i dont like waste (anymore). :yucky:

So just stay away for your own sakes and be yourself.

Poeple running the herd dont interest me. They have out of whatever reasons temporarly borrowed another ones form, thinking like oh yeah, maybe i can be happy with that, but what it actually does, it drags you along.

Maybe all this 'social networking' is to blame. People spend so much time on Facebook that they forget how to interact with people in real life, so they turn to alcohol in hopes that it'll loosen their tongues. :P

Talk about chemicals. At a party we wear tons of them (body lotions, skin tans, eye lash colours, body odours, you name it) PLUS we drink, smoke, sniff, eat a lot of them too. All that just in the name of sociality.

When comes the day when we can be together as "bare bones"

That´s what you need to. Any thing else is not needed. If every body show up at a party, with no booze, no drugs, we are at neutral ground. Party can begin.
