Morilibus
Hello, I'm trying to find a way to change or disable the scream/grunt/cry the character does when performing a power attack(holding down attack button ect) I been searching for the last hour(maybe more) on tesnexus, this forum and just with google. I've got the tes construction set loaded with the oblivion esm and I'm trying to see which wav files could be these sound effects so I could maybe jsut throw in some blank sound files to disable, but can't see anything (to me) that would be tied into those actions. I thought I had a moment where I don't recal hearing those sounds, so maybe its a mod that's adding them. But I don't see anything in my sound folder either that looks to be those. here's my mod list just in case: Oblivion.esmOscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esmbookplacing.esmHorseCombatMaster.esmUnofficial Oblivion Patch.espUOP Vampire Aging & Face Fix.espDLCShiveringIsles.espUnofficial Shivering Isles Patch.espSymphony of Violence.espBook Jackets Oblivion - BP.espReznod_Mannequin.espLiving Economy.espLiving Economy - Items.espCutthroat Merchants.espStreamline 3.1.espMap Marker Overhaul.espMap Marker Overhaul - SI additions.espImproved Hotkeys.espDLCHorseArmor.espDLCHorseArmor - Unofficial Patch.espDLCOrrery.espDLCOrrery - Unofficial Patch.espDLCVileLair.espDLCVileLair - Unofficial Patch.espDLCMehrunesRazor.espDLCMehrunesRazor - Unofficial Patch.espDLCSpellTomes.espDLCSpellTomes - Unofficial Patch.espDLCThievesDen.espDLCThievesDen - Unofficial Patch.espDLCThievesDen - Unofficial Patch - SSSB.espOscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.espOOO-Map_Markers_Stock.espOMOBS.espOMOBS_SI.espOMOBS Optional Combat Settings.espallinonebasement.espDLCBattlehornCastle.espDLCBattlehornCastle - Unofficial Patch.espDLCFrostcrag.espDLCFrostcrag - Unofficial Patch.espKnights.espKnights - Unofficial Patch.espLost Paladins of the Divines.espHarvest [Flora].espHarvest [Flora] - Shivering Isles.espHarvest [Flora] - DLCVileLair.espHarvest [Flora] - DLCFrostcrag.espBook Placement v2.espHUD Status Bars.espPersuasionOverhaul.espPersuasionOverhaul_OOO.espToggleable Quantity Prompt.espKobu's Skip Intro Mod.espRealisticFatigue.espRealisticHealth.espGather Ye Rosebuds.espMighty Magick - Settings.espMighty Magick - Spells and Creatures.espMighty Magick - Skills.espMidasSpells.espMidas OscuroGems.espMidas Betterholy.espMidas PowDur4x.espMidas Tigernolevel OBSE.espMidas BeastFortify Fix OBSE.espRshAlchemy.espRshAlchemyRecipes.espDeadly Reflex 6 - Timed Block with no damage or durability changes.espMounted_Spellcasting_Deadly_Reflex_Compatible.espnGCD.espnGCD Birthsigns.espnGCD Oghma Infinium.espnGCD Skeleton Key.espLegendary Abilities-Shield MOJ.espLegendary Abilities-Fortify Health MOJ.espLegendary Abilities-Reflect MOJ.espGrandmaster of Alchemy.espOOO-Level_Stock.espSP1stPLegs.espBeautiful People.espDisable Tutorial Text.espLightSpellTorch.espOOO-Magic_Script_Effect_Fix.espDeadlyReflex 6 - Combat Moves.espno_mouse_wheel.esp Anyhow I'm getting sick of my battles sounding like a bad Van Damme Movie(is the 'bad' needed?) and was wondering if someone could tell me how to get rid of them, or knows of a mod that already does. [update] Ok I think I've found a way, playing around again in the CS I finally found reference to these sounds(I think) in the dialogue section(previously was looking in the main section under sounds, I see these are just effects now). So I found generic references(10 of them) in the combat section which when opened has the following for script info: REC - All Races, All Sexes; no subtitles displayed; make noises like an attack with HUGE physical exertion; each line here is a one variation of ten Which sounds correct to me. So I found some 1 second silent mp3 files included with TESgecko and renamed them to match the files referenced and will create a folder structure as shown in the CS in my data folder(sound/voice/oblivion.esm/nord/m/) and thus replacing these files for my Male Nord character. One side effect I'm guessing is it will also effect any Nord NPC character that uses a power attack as I don't think these are PC specific, but that's ok with me. haven't actually tested it yet, but will most likely be back if I run into more problems. I'm guessing I could also only replace 9 of these and give it a 10% chance of a grunt. Edited January 3, 2011 by Morilibus
majikmonkee
If you haven't fixed this yet, this may be useful to you. It's what I use to fix this very issue. Silent Player Voice

Silent Player Voice  I did get it to work simply by putting dummy files in. Though this mod may have done a better job, and takes care of the damage sounds also. Will check it out. Shotherra
This may be the opposite question I ask  But I`m missing voice for my khajiit character. Is there any org. sound files for khajiit?
Morilibus
This may be the opposite question I ask  But I`m missing voice for my khajiit character. Is there any org. sound files for khajiit? I'm pretty sure the defaults should be in the oblivion.esm so removing any added sounds will revert back to the defaults. The sound files for characters are this folder: data/sound/voice/oblivion.esm/ in there there would be a folder for each character type, then a sub folder of m or f for male and female. if you have any custom sounds in these that might be doing it, for example the power attack sounds for the khajiit are in the following folder(for some reason): data/sound/voice/oblivion.esm/argonian/m/ and have names like "generic_powerattack_********.mp3" If you don't have any folder structures like this then I don't think this is the culprit. Or there could be a mod that is changing the reference to them. in which case I'm not sure how to fix, other then trial and error to figure out which mod is doing it, or possibly a new one to overwrite it back to default loaded last in your loader. Remember to backup before removing or changing anything. But I'd wait for someone else who might have a better idea than me, as I don't mod, just fiddle)
