MovingSalad
hello all, I am having some texture troubles...It all started with my friend downloading and installing the "full hq nude mod" while I was doing something else in my house at the time, when i came back I noticed that I had not mad ea backup (because I try and stay clear of full out replacers like that) and by then it was too late. I was able to russle up the groin meshes and textures but now the upper legs of both males and females are all wonky, probably because the texture is the same, even though the others are missing. I am in need of the vanilla Oblivion leg textures and I'd like to require them without having to uninstall and reinstall my game.
Abramul
http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/TES4BSA I believe it has an option to only unpack a named texture. But if you plan on creating mods, it's worthwhile to have everything unpacked anyway...
MovingSalad
Ahh, unpack them from the cd I presume, that would solve this problem. I'd rather unpack all of the meshes/textures for the bodies of the characters, just to I can make sure all of the bodies are back to their original form. cryocry
Reinstalling wouldn't work to get the textures back to normal. I tried it. And shouldn't this be in Technical Support?
Povuholo
Reinstalling wouldn't work to get the textures back to normal. I tried it. And shouldn't this be in Technical Support?I think it should be there yes. Reinstalling should work if you do it like this:1. Uninstall the game2. Delete the entire oblivion folder (By uninstalling the game, custom textures and mods are not deleted) Or just delete the textures/meshes folder and any esp that adds them, so you don't lose the other mods.3. Install the game. With all the custom textures gone, everything is back to normal.
Guest Tessera
I am in need of the vanilla Oblivion leg textures and I'd like to require them without having to uninstall and reinstall my game. Unless the mod changed the packed game files, those Vanilla textures should still be there. Take a look in your ArchiveInvalidation.txt file and see if there are any specific entries listed for the modded textures that you tried to uninstall. If there are any listed, then delete those entries... they're preventing the game from loading the default textures. I wish I could be more help, but I'm not familiar with the mod you're having trouble with. I've been using Eshme's Better Bodies And Clothes, which is a very well-behaved (and beautifully done) female body mod. Perhaps if I knew more about the particular mod that you're talking about, I could take a look at it.
MovingSalad
It's called "full hq" or something along those lines. Let me explain to you guys what I want: I wish to keep my saved games (along with the great amount of custom textures and meshes) the way they are, but simply getting back all of the old body textures, that's all I'm asking for, which is the most efficient way to do so without having to uninstall? I found the mod and saw the install guide which was in one of the posts there. The mod adds these lines to the ArchiveInvalidation.txt file:textures/characters/imperial/female/handfemale.dds textures/characters/imperial/female/handfemale_n.dds textures/characters/darkelf/female/handfemale.dds textures/characters/darkelf/female/handfemale_n.dds textures/characters/orc/female/handfemale.dds textures/characters/orc/female/handfemale_n.dds textures/characters/khajiit/female/handfemale.dds textures/characters/khajiit/female/handfemale_n.dds textures/characters/argonian/female/handfemale.dds textures/characters/argonian/female/handfemale_n.dds meshes/characters/_male/femalehand.nif meshes/characters/_male/femalelowerbody.nif meshes/characters/_male/femaleupperbody.nif meshes/characters/_male/femalefoot.nif textures/characters/imperial/female/upperbodyfemale.dds textures/characters/imperial/female/upperbodyfemale_n.dds textures/characters/orc/female/upperbodyfemale.dds textures/characters/darkelf/female/upperbodyfemale.ddsSince you deleted some of these textures, the game can't find them. Deleting these lines should bring back the original textures. The textures that came with this mod that you didn't delete yet will still be in your folder, but they will not be used. MovingSalad
Thats the thing though, I had a look at my "Archive Invalidation" file and found a few problems with another mod (I knew about this, and this is irrelevant) But I did not however find these lines of text in it. I am quite sure that the leg textures are from this mod, but other textures are vanilla.
