Nehrim Need help with console command syntax & values

I am a bit physically handicapped and cannot do things fast in-game. And being 75 years old does not help. I don't use the (~) commands often but there is one I need to use and cannot. I would like to advance a quest to the next stage when I find I am unable to complete the current stage due to the need for quick reactions. The command "player.SetStage <QuestID> <Stage> I believe would do what I need. But, I must have the parameter values for the QuestID and the Stage. The info can be found for Oblivion quests but since the Nehrim quests do not exist in the Oblivion data bases I am up against a brick wall. I thought some of the Nehrim modders might be able to help.

I could probably help since I'm using the CS for Nehrim for modding purposes, but I don't know what the quest names would be in English as in the CS they are written in German and I'd need to translate them. I'm assuming you are using the English version of Nehrim.

If you're familiar with the Oblivion CS you can easily use it to view Nehrim files with a couple of steps. Copy two files from the Oblivion directory to the Nehrim root directory:

TESConstructionSet.exe

ssce5432.dll

Then make a shortcut on your Desktop and add Nehrim to the end of the name so you know which is which. When you load it only put a check next to the Nehrim esm (don't make it active) and then go to Character - Quests. You will then see all the stages and names.

Keep in mind if you use the console in game you will need to use different keys as the keyboard changes to German via the ini. I just Googled a picture of a German keyboard which was a big help.

Otherwise, unless someone can help with German language here, you would probably be better asking at the SureAi forums, but it means registering. They have an English section.

Unfortunately I have no idea about the Nehrim quests... but I did want to say that if the reason you have trouble performing actions quickly in the game is due to weak, stiff, or arthritic hands, it's possible you might find it easier to play using a console's controller (like from the PlayStation or Xbox) instead of the mouse and keyboard.

It takes a little getting used to if you aren't familiar with the controller -- but once you get it down, it makes the game much easier to play for people with stiff joints. You can sit with the controller held in your lap so you don't have to move your hands, wrists, or arms at all, and only move individual fingers a very tiny bit to press the buttons.

I use a PlayStation controller for Oblivion on the PC because I have rheumatoid arthritis and my hands are pretty badly clawed with limited movement, and very little range of motion in my elbow and shoulder joints. It's nearly impossible for me to play games that require me to keep one hand on the mouse and use the keyboard with the other, and my fingers aren't able to physically position over the A-S-W-D movement keys anyway. The controller is a godsend for me.

If you think it might help you, feel free to send me a private message here on the Nexus and I'll explain how to go about using a console controller on your computer.

Thank you, Chaospearl. I will definitely try the console approach.
