Bruxinth Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Okay, just as the title states, everytime I try to install certain mods, the nexus client will crash. Does anyone know some good reasons why nexus would crash because of this?
Striker879 Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 If it's an older mod designed to be installed with Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM) then chances are it will either be distributed as an OMOD file which requires OBMM or the mod includes a folder name "omod conversion" which will cause Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) to choke and die. In general NMM is a poor choice for modding Oblivion unless you are an expert manual installer and know how to repackage the older mods in a manner which NMM can understand.
Surilindur Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 ...and by the time you are experienced enough to understand how things work, as well as able to successfully repackage mods, solve problems by thinking (the ones Google cannot answer) and have enough time and patience to spend on trying to make things work, it would probably be better to forget about NMM and manually download mods, repackage them and use the almighty Mod Organizer to keep things pretty. If you just want to make mods work and play the game, OBMM (together with Wrye Bash) would be best for installing mods. Just as Striker suggested.
