Two bugs that the fixes I know are mutually exclusive for. Help please?

Recommended Posts

So I've been playing fallout three, blasting super mutants with Sydney, diffusing bombs, tracking androids, and all the rest. But, here I go to help daddy with his big project, and he offs himself like he's supposed to and Li, Sydney, and I run through the escape hatch in the next room when BAM! Suddenly I'm fused with seven or so other people and a couple of feral ghouls somewhere under the floor. So, I un-master-update my mods like you're supposed to to fix that issue and then... Well, I can walk through the hatch without winding up in spazzland, but I try to save and everything goes black and the game closes without saving.

I've tried just about everything I can think of and nothing. I've deactivated all my mods, un-MU'd them, deactivated some of them but not others, tried merged patch without MUing, MUing without the merged patch... I'm out of ideas.

My load order is as follows:

Fallout3.esm
Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm
Anchorage.esm
ThePitt.esm
BrokenSteel.esm
PointLookout.esm
Zeta.esm
Apocalypse Armory.esm
Project Beauty.esm

Realistic Interior Lighting - BS.esp
Realistic Interior Lighting - PL.esp
UWWUT.esp

I'm running on windows 7 and if you guys need more info on the specks just let me know.

The last saved game was written with the modified content ,Content which you destroyed ,so yes, it will no longer work.

In these games, the game saved the data as written...you changed things in mid flight...there is no fix for that saved game.

The only possible way to fix it would be to repeat every step in the exact same way all over again and attempt to load it and Hope like hell it works.

In the header of the uf3p file master ,check and make sure only fallout3.esm is the only listed file there.

IF it's not? it's in the wrong place.

Bethesda games work in a forward manner, there is no going backwards with anything. Progressive methods work in one direction only.

Actually, I managed to work around it. turns out the "Blow yourself up" solution for being unable to save without crashing works. (Didn't find it until after posting this)

Edit: I temporarily removed the MU and did a little kamikaze just outside the hatch, and when the game reloaded I was able to quicksave once I went through without the game crashing.

'Nother edit: Turns out re-MUing while still in the tunnel still makes everything go nuts. With luck I can do that after finishing the mission and everything will be fine... but, well, if it is more than the one location that causes a total spazzout by the game I'll just avoid the main quest I guess...

The Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch should be loaded after all the DLCs, not where you have it. See the load order on the mod description page of the Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.

If you are not using the Updated version, why not?

I have a serious question for you ?

Why are you master updating all your files ?

What is it that makes you think that is a cure all method ?
