chiwoo18
THAT's RIGHT! There is an actual however unofficial EVE port for New Vegas. I did a search for EVE on the FNV Forums and surprisingly found nada. So I thought I would bring it into the light. FO3 EVE fans, try not to drool on your keyboard. For those who don't know what the EVE or Energy Visuals Enhanced mod is, the name pretty much speaks for itself. But to see it in action will completely amaze you. Wanna melt the flesh off a Fiend with a plasma weapon and watch his skeletal remains drop to the ground? Or how about kill him with a lazer freezing him like a vampire caught in the sun and in a few seconds witness the charred Fiend statue explode into fiery flakes. Leaving behind a few burnt bones and a crispy hand sticking askew out of a pile of ash. That's just two examples of EVE's carnage ecstasy. There are currently 29 delightful effects for FO3's energy and other weapon types. How many of those made it to FNV? I have yet to know without testing more. The port was made by a wonderful LucidusCruorem. Now this port is 110% UNOFFICIAL. One could almost say "it doesn't exit". In fact you have to go outside the nexus network to get it. That's how unofficial it is. As far as I know LucidusCruorem has not given permission for feedback on this port so until otherwise show some respect and do not barrage him/her with PM's. If you like the port simply give a Kudos and leave it at. If you give a negative endorsement for the EVE FO3 version based on the Unofficial FNV Port may God have mercy on your soul. So here is EVE's Nexus page: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8340 where you can find the link for the FNV port and other info regarding it. So far the port is working great for me amidst my other 70 installed mods. CAUTION: Always make a clean save for backup in case a mod nukes your other saves. And make sure to test it well before continuing on your grand journeys. Here is what I did: 1. I downloaded the FNV port2. I download these art files from the EVE FO3 page - EVE 097 Beta Main, EVE - Operation Anchorage, Newest Update, Updated Mesh and unloaded them into my FNV data folder in that order3. Dropped the ESM and ESP FNV versions into my FNV Data Folder.4. In the FOMM I put the EVE Esm as close to the top as it could go without anticipated conflicts and the EVE Esp at the very bottom of the load order. EVE does not change Weapon or Projectile dmg data so you shouldn't have conflicts with weapon systems or crafting overhaul mods. Any FNV mods that change Energy weapon models or projectiles/impacts may conflict. You will just have to try it and find out. 5. I killed anything that moved. As far as I have tested all FNV NPCs and creatures are able to die with some type of EVE effect. Humanoids being the most, Geckos and Deathclaws 2nd, and insects having the least types of effects. I haven't tested bots, but don't remember EVE applying to them in FO3. Vanilla FNV won't always give the ash or goo kill effect. EVE's effects follow the same calculations, it only changes the visuals just like it says in its name. Usually a kill with a Crit Shot will do the trick. The perk "Laser Commander" will definitely to help. And of course a crit shot/kill with sneak mode. I also recommend IWS-Increased Wasteland Spawns mod - http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38623. The more to kill the more EVEtastic fun. If you have have the Meltdown perk it can ruin the EVE effects or at least make them hard to see. If you want to turn off the Meltdown perk go to this page to learn how, its very easy and then you can add a different perk to replace Meltdown. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Gamebryo_console_commands For Troubleshooting and Discussion:There is a forum topic for the port on the F03 forums. http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=255644. Or you can you use this FNV EVE topic or start your own. Also don't PM me I am only the bearer of good news with some tips and insight. Enjoy watching your enemies depart from the FNV world in horrifically fun ways. And THANK YOU so so much LucidusCruorem for making this port! You get my Kudos. chiwoo18
BIG UPDATE - Big FYI ED-E Companion is not compatible with this port. He won't fight or sound the alarm. ED will just float in one spot twiddling his antennas. I removed EVE to check and I got CTD. I tried it again and everything worked fine and ED was back to his good'ole self. Personally I prefer EVE or ED-E as a companion so I will use REX instead. Remember as with all BETAs/WIPs/Experiment mods it is wise to have a clean indoor pre-mod save as backup. I prefer to make a clean save in one of the abandoned homes in Primm.
