Polytune
It never happens right away. Occurs after about half an hour of gameplay (give or take). I use NMM, FOSE, LOOT and Wrye Flash to install mods, launch the game, and keep my load order tidy. There are no problems listed in Wrye Flash; all mods are green with checkmarks and my saves are purple with checkmarks. Not sure what the issue is. My load order is as follows: GameMode=Fallout3 Fallout3.esm=1Anchorage.esm=1BrokenSteel.esm=1PointLookout.esm=1ThePitt.esm=1Zeta.esm=1RH_IRONSIGHTS.esm=1CALIBR.esm=1FOOK2 - Main.ESM=1FOOK2 - [DIK] DLC Improvement Kit.ESM=0SShop.esm=1CALIBRxMerchant.esp=1SShopItems.esp=1RH_IronSights_Basic_AnchoragePlugin.esp=1RH_IronSights_RemoveReticule.esp=1RH_IronSights_Basic_VanillaPlugin.esp=1RH_IronSights_Basic_ZetaPlugin.esp=0RH_IronSights_Pitt_NewRifleSights.esp=1RH_IronSights_Basic_PittPlugin.esp=1RH_IronSights_PL_NewItems.esp=1RH_IronSights_Basic_BrokenSteelPlugin.esp=1RH_IronSights_Basic_PointLookoutPlugin.esp=1FOOK2 - Main.esp=1FOOK2 - [DIK] DLC Improvement Kit.esp=0FOOK2 - Main [Hotfix].esp=1FOOK2 - DIK [Hotfix].esp=0Bashed Patch, 0.esp=1Any help would be very appreciated! Polytune
My bad, I need to update that part. I run Windows 8.
M48A5
Part of the problem is the video chip you are using to try to run the game. Intel HD Graphics chips were not designed for gaming. The other problem is your load order. Rearrange it to: Fallout3.esm Anchorage.esm ThePitt.esm BrokenSteel.esm PointLookout.esm Zeta.esm Also, see this: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1465357-installing-fallout-3-with-windows-78-and-xp/ You must do every step. Polytune
Okay, I found the Falloutprefs (the .ini, I guess?) file. The guide says to change 'bUsethreadedAI=0' to 'bUsethreadedAI=1' but I don't have that line anywhere. Where should I add it? Polytune
Nevermind, I can't even find the fallout.ini file Edited May 17, 2015 by Polytune
obobski
The ini will be in My Documents/My Games not in the Fallout 3 folder. You want to add that threaded AI as well as iNumHWThreads=2; at least that's what has fixed Fallout 3 on multi-core CPUs for me (I've tried setting HWThreads to 4 on quad-core CPUs, and it doesn't seem to make any difference from 2).
