Falling and Bald People

I hope this one is really easy and I feel stupid afterwards, but...

I am working on a Mod near Bravil. It is going well, but I do notice that when I am approaching my new island, my NPCs appear by dropping from about 20 ft or so in the air. Sometimes, they do it when I just turn around and am on the island! Help!

On that same note, I had to reload all and, though CM Partners works fine and I can create new ones who work, I can no longer use Sah or Jessica Alba, both I adore. :-) Ideas? I keep trying to reload the skin, etc... textures in a new order, but it doesn't seem to work.

Thanks,

Just so it doesn't sound dumber than it looks, the "bald" part was with the character "Faith"; she was always bald. That's not as bad as not usuable, but... :-)

I only have minimal NPC placement experience, but I do know that you set the altitude at which NPC's appear when they first spawn. I only know this because I had to do it when I created a CM companion. I don't remember the key that you press to adjust altitude, but it was described in the instructions that were included with CM Partners for how to create an NPC. Wish I could be more helpful with the specifics.

That is an immense help as I had never heard of that one! I will certainly look into it!

Hmmm....speaking of CM. I have had little trouble creating a new partner by cloning an already created partner and making changes; what if...I wanted to...say...clone Bernadette Peneles and make the clone a CM...I haven't been successful with that so far, so I am missing something, though the screens all look the same.

Thanks again.

That's very possible, I don't have the instructions in front of me but you'd probably want to clone a partner from an existing one per the instructions, then you can change the race as needed and copy and paste the face and edit attributes as needed. It sounds complex but it's not too bad, I'm a modding dunce but I was able to learn it.

I wish I was at my computer but I'm actually on my phone right now typing this. Basically you open the Construction Set, look for the name of the NPC whose face you want under NPC's, then double click their name and open them. Look for a tab that says something like Face Advanced and you will see a preview of the NPC head and a button that says Copy. Then you just open the NPC file for the character you want to paste the face on, and click the Paste button instead of Copy. You will need to change the race first to match that of whoever the face is coming from, and also edit hair color and style yourself. Hope this helps a bit...
