nisen
First the problems dont seem related to any mods installed, the main offenders a loud clipping sound usually happens outdoors, but also a quiter indoor version: its something to do with the music files cause muting the volume on that setting stops it, and activating any of the radio stations might also stop it (the music files arent whats played on the radio, not sure if ive heard music files ingame) It often starts clipping when loading a game too, and sometimes stops when loaded. Dont know if a music files sapposed to play during load screens. and seems unrelated, but realsed now the pip boy doesnt play song tracks, only commentary, so only hear song tracks on portable radios/jukeboxes. Ive downloaded the GNR 'more where that came from' mod with a few packs and another one called Drama Radio, and shows the same thing (Drama Radio doesnt play the actual content, only a 3 second announecent every now again, and assume that station can only play on the pip boy) My sound drivers are upto date and sapposed to be working properly, but I dont personally know anything of sound codec's if thats the problem. Does anyone here know what might be the problem Edited January 10, 2011 by nisen

I never found out what the problem was, and ended up removing it (reluctantly). I guess it might be a scripting glitch -- the GNR scripting is quite complex. My solution, at least to get some music while travelling, was to get the 'Combat Eyebots with GNR' mod. This gives you a Sgt Rock follower who will play GNR, as well as another eyebot that thinks it's a (PC-friendly) supermutant. It's a fun mod as well as a useful one. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7781 Edited January 11, 2011 by roquefort
nisen
thanks, ill try it out. Hope those eyebots are hardier than normal ones, I tried one for music/muling, but they drop like flies, and disintregrate on death. Also noticed sentry bots cant stay alive long, which is surprising, but havent field tested mr gutsy's, which are probably an alternative to eyebots. Itd also be good if the Dogmeat leather armor mod could add a mini jukebox to sit on his pack like one of the Nuka Cola toy ones, would go well with his other accessories edit, oh so theyre set as essential, nice one btw the songs didnt/dont play on the vanilla install of the game on the pip boy either, so not an issue with those mods Edited January 11, 2011 by nisen
