roomspace
I am currently using a 17" CRT monitor that is dying. I've avoided LCD's all these years because everyone I have used has given me headaches and eye strain. I have used crappy ones they had at my old work, my parents have 2 lower end Dells, and my brother has a Dell too. I can't stand staring at either of them for very long... the colors look odd and I can start to feel my eyes hurting. I am not sure where to go or what to try now. Maybe I should try to find a non-TN LCD monitor? Maybe try an IPS? 120hz?Or LED back lighting such as this LG E2360V 23" 1080p LED Slim LCD Monitor? If I knew for sure it was brightness or ghosting that killed my head it would seem easy to fix... but the fact is I just don't. I'm also prone to migraines and sensitive to fluorescent lights in stores so price isn't nearly as important to me as comfort. Still, something in the $200-300 range would be best. Thanks guys. CommanderCrazy
I have had AOC monitors from the start, and have never had a problem.Look them up. Edited January 11, 2011 by CommanderCrazy
Fonger
considering that you are sensitive to light and lighting your best bet would be to track down the monitor in a store and look at it carefully Then when you have found one you like, cross check its price at newegg and possibly amazon unfortunately you'll still have to face the bad lighting in the stores in the first place, but its gonna be about the only way you can find out for certain if the monitor meets your requirements
CommanderCrazy
If your eyes can't handle light well, visit an optometrist. They can give you special contact lenses to help your problem.
Feltmarskal
considering that you are sensitive to light and lightingOff topic, but you got me thinking of the Ginger episode of South Park! :D LED's are great, can only recommend them. Your eyes aren't working as much as on a LCD. Edited January 11, 2011 by Feltmarskal

CommanderCrazy
LED monitors cause less strain, but if you are having serious problems with standard lights, then do what I said before. An optometrist can give you special contact lenses that help diffuse the light slightly, therefore aiding your problem completely.
prandiningrat
I'd only suggest that you need LCD at least 2ms 'response time'..It is safe for our eyes.
