majikmonkee Posted January 11, 2011 Share Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) I know requests for a brand new playable race require a lot of hard work, and generally, the people with the talent to do them are involved in projects of their own, but I thought I'd put this out there and just see what happens. =D I used to play Everquest II extensively, and Oblivion manages to have races very similar in a lot of ways to a lot of my favorites from EQII, and most of the ones it does not have I can do without anyway. One race I'd really love to play in Oblivion would be the Ratonga race. I checked the Nexus and there are no mods for it out there (someone referenced a mod for a FF9 rat race of some sort, but it had been removed). I understand names and exact designs are probably protected, but for anyone who might be interested, here's a picture and brief description of Ratongas. They are normally about the height of a child, just over half the height of a regular humanoid, although you can set your height in EQII so the exact size varies. They are generally associated with being thieves or sneaky sorts of classes in EQ although obviously they could be other things to. Below is a picture. They have a reverse ankle joint, and I've seen a werewolf mod that accomplished that look on playable races, but obviously a shrunken version of a Khajiit body would probaby work as well with a different head. The desert of Elseweyr has goblins that are similar in design to Ratonga, but they are ugly and lack the humanoid musculature Ratongas have.
