Tsumikiro Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Hello all you beautiful modders out there. (Please excuse my obvious kiss-assery.) I am really digging W3, but the minimap is a constant distraction. I end up looking at it far more than I look at the rather beautiful game world in front of me. I tried turning it off for a while, but it becomes rather difficult to know where it is your are going. So I was thinking of a compromise. I think if the mini map could be replaced with a compass like Skyrim's, it would really help for the enjoyment of this game. Something that shows the direction of your current objective, the custom markers, and perhaps all the undiscovered points on the world map if you are within a certain range of them. I have a feeling that this would be a very popular mod, and something I know I personally would be interested in supporting. Thanks for taking the time to read!
ChevalierDHarmental Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 I think they tried to imitate the Red Dead Redemption compass and they did a good job. The compass in Skyrim is of course better suited for a game with multiple quests going on in the same time. Curious to see if someone makes it happen.
Draagushnahk Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 I'd like to see this too, preferably with a faster opening main map so I can navigate naturally without the minimap. But until the REDkit comes out and allows for ui modding I doubt we'll see it.

solling78 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I would love this mod as well. Ive turned off the mini map as it annoys me when i can see enemies coming and i keep looking at it way to often :D i would prefer just a compas it would make it a lot easier finding my way.

I placed a similar request for a mod like this and as time goes by I can hardly stand to live with the current minimap options or even the friendly hud quest markers. its just so much clunkier and less immersive than something that was simply done nearly a decade ago
