jtucker40
Hi everyone, Over the past few days I have been itching to get back into FO3, so I wiped clean my data/game folders and started a fresh install. This time I am hoping to use the wonderous invention that is Mod Organizer however I have ran into some serious problems. When I boot up the game using steam or any of the .exes located in the game folder, everything works fine. However whenever I try to start the game from inside MO using those same .exes, my game immediately crashes as soon as the opening slideshow begins. I should also say that I had been playing FO3 for about a year before taking a bit of a break and never ran into a problem like this. As for what I have tried so far:I use a computer that runs Windows 8 so I tried the multicore ini fix: no fixHave updated my Games for Windows Live account: no fixHave removed Games for Windows Live from Fallout: no fixTried the d3d9.dll intel graphics card trick, but this resulted in me not being able to launch from steam, which is a step backwards: no fixHave tried a few other things that I can't really remember right now, but none of them helped at allMO Modlist: http://pastebin.com/G8egHXjN MO fallout.ini: http://pastebin.com/bXRze7W5 Main fallout.ini: http://pastebin.com/GYvi5ZXZ I know this is a pretty common problem and have scoured through tons of threads about it but haven't been able to find anything that truly helps me out. M48A5
Your main Fallout .ini shows bUseThreadedAI=0. No I'm no computer wiz, but I don't think that will work. Not that it will help your problem, but you are missing compatibility patches for RH_IronSights, WMK and FOOK. It looks like your problem is with Mod Organizer and not the game. Why not stick to a proven product and use FOMM?
jtucker40
Oops, you're right, just corrected that but it unfortunately didn't make a difference since my main .exes were working already. Could the crashing be a result of them not being compatible? I couldn't find a patch that made all three of them work nicely together but since I was using compatibility for WMK/Fook and RH/Fook separately I figured I might try and play it by ear. It's looking like MO might not be an option at this point, but as a sort of last ditch effort I just tried to install all thesfe mods manually directly into the data folder (something I have experience in from my oblivion days). After I did that I launched the game directly through the FOSE exe and was met with the same crashing problem.
