Companions in Skyrim?

what if you can get people from factions as companions like if you join the blades (just as an example) you can have an blade apprentice or just a fellow blade with you. Just a thought even though there probably won't be no blades

There are deffinitaly some Blades, what has been confirmed. The man talking in the teaser trailer who guides you supposedly in the beginning of the game is a Blade.

I like your idea though. They did that a little bit with the Dark Brotherhood, which was really cool. You could tell an assassin to follow you and they would be your little lackey.

@ Fatalmasterpiece.

you should give companion Vilja a try. I think you'd be pleasantly surprised at how well Emma did with her. She has 100% original voice that matches her character perfectly. And honestly, I don't think I could have a companion that wasn't as integrated as Vilja was with the gameworld and character. Not for my "main companion" anyways.

Viconia was a good companion mod with great voice work and an epic quest line. original voice

Stoker Wolff had the same interface as Viconia with original voice work, there was some background noise that kept it from being a 10 but still a good companion mod. (oh you can romance both Viconia and Stoker)

Neeshka ...ah what a good friend she is! She's voiced but with files from the game. I love having her around because she's a lighthearted companion. Great to fight with and hang out with. not a big download and fits well in the game world.

These are the ones that I use every time I play Oblivion. There might be more but I haven't tried them.

My point is I can appreciate your point- some companion mods are disappointing. But there are a few out there that can blow your socks off it you try them.

I applaud everyone who has made an original companion because of all the hard work that goes into it. And I really hope we can see more companion mods with voicing in Skyrim. I don't have a "nordic" voice or I'd volunteer to help out lol.

First of I have played with Vilja and she is the best thing in oblivion I even made the trailer for Vilja (check it out on Vilja mod and then video tab). Hope the companions have good stories or they will be a drag, in falloutNV they tried to but failed on abit.

A side note: I could maybe voice a character because I'm from Sweden but I have a really crackling voice as I'm just 16

I think there will most definitely be some form of companions in Skyrim as well. I've never really used them in Oblivion though. Only tried Red Sonia, which was okay I guess. But my characters have been way to sneaky to have any use for NPC's following me around.

Btw, if you look att the available scans, there's one picture of a man walking through a village with a dog by his side. Hopefully they will be available for the player as well and being protective against enemies (Vanilla Oblivion had pets for some NPC's but not the player, so who knows  ).

The article on GameInformer's website today says that there will be companions. It says sometimes when an NPC gives you a quest they may accompany you on the quest. So it appears that companions will be random, but I am also certain that there will be companions in some of the regular quests too, not just the randomly generated ones.

My definite first choice would be a giant spider! that would be just freaking epic! Even if he didn't follow me around he could guard my treasures in my basement and I'd always find tons of skeletons in his webs. Also I could ride him around like a horse. I wanted giant spiders when info about fallout3 came out, and I finally got them. Don't know who'd voice act for spiders though, but maybe it'll just be dialogue boxes.

Right the GI article didn't confirm actual companions. It just confirmed that, like in Oblivion, sometimes NPCs may help you with your quest. However, it doesn't really imply companions will not be in the game either, so it's really anyone's guess at this point.

I didn't realize Vilja is voiced, or I might have tried it in the past. To be honest, I am pretty burnt out on Oblivion. I played with for many years and got a ton out of it. I feel like it's time to move on. I also lost my disc, AGAIN!

Viconia I didn't mind, except that I don't really feel like she was written all that well. Also, I am a huge Baldur's Gate fan and Faerun fan in general but she really doesn't fit in the game world, and the needed underdark mod is really unwelcome. I never got the underdark to work properly, nor would I have wanted to since it really detracted from the Oblivion experience IMO.

Neeshka might actually be fun because I really liked her character and voice acting. But I thought that kind of thing was a no no to talk about...

I've actually been giving thoughts to creating my own companion mod voiced by myself. I have an audio studio I record music at home with, so getting the brunt work done wouldn't be difficult at all. However, like I said, I've moved on from Oblivion and I'm not sure New Vegas or the DC Wasteland needs another companion... so I may just wait for Skyrim to come around. Unfortunately that mean's not even being able to get started since we really don't know, -what- the game will need for voice acting (situations, events etc). Also I would like to be able to examine samples of their existing voice files to try and replicate the levels, compression and EQ with my own sound files.
